It's amazing how they're recreating that one moment from the Shadow 05 opening, since Jeff Fowler (the director of all the Sonic movies), was a FX artist and his first job was working with Sega on Shadow 05, animating Shadow in the opening cutscene. So I think this movie means a LOT to him if he were to reference it, I mean imagine being the director about a movie starring the very character that you animated as your first job.
