It is better that they introduce one or two characters at a time in each movie, because everyone is gonna get overwhelmed with the whole sonic crew all at once.

It would be weird for Amy to not be in Sonic 3 since she is the reason Shadow chooses to do the right thing. If she doesn't show up to be the one who talks him down then he might end up staying a villain. It'd be weird for Sonic to talk him down, Shadow and Tails are def gonna have beef, and Knickles…is Knuckles. Time will tell i suppose.

By the way, they will change some things to fit the story of the movie. It’s not gonna be a one to one story of the game they will change things to feed the movie. That’s why I love the first sonic movie it did not introduce multiple characters. It was just an origin, story of sonic and nothing more.
Actually,if you see the trailer closely,in the part where there is a robot crab in front of team Sonic,you see an extra shadow on the right side of knuckles and some fans are debating that is going to be amy,like in spider no way home's trailer they didn't show Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire
