Today I’m going over what I think might be the worst generation of game consoles at least so far. I’m really hoping the 9th gen of consoles can turn it around and release some games that will make people happy about owning these systems. Is the 9th gen the worst console generation of all time?

I was basically forced to just recently buy the Xbox X because modern warfare 2 ran like shit on the one S. In that regard buying the new system was necessary. Even though they’re cross gen games, they don’t run as well on the older gen consoles.
6th and 7th generation were the best era of gaming
The biggest different with the last gen and current gen is the frame rate. If you want 60fps for most games then you have to go next gen or current gen as it is now. For those ok with 30fps and the lesser graphical support from the hardware the PS4 is good enough as it plays almost all the new games.
Most people say gaming now is peak.
Yes, gaming now is cool and all.
But honestly most of the games are kinda just boring or just a remake of an old game (which they either make or break)
There's some gems within the triple A games
But most are eh, compared to back in the day.(it was probably the same, we only say all of this because we have the games now)
I love buying a physical game disc, the excitement since the PS1 days of getting that case and holding it
Its not that these consoles are to blame, they are very good and affordable systems. Its just that the western game industry has been hijacked by bad actors. There is no genuine passion and creativity anymore, only corporate products… I mean, just compare 343 with old Bungie!
And everytime I go to play it the stupid machine needs to update for an hour. The Xbox 360 was the pinnacle of console gaming.
Every game for 9th gen is either a Remake, Remaster, or a complete failure of a storyline game, they can only pump out COD multiplayer.

I have an Xbox Series S since day one. After all these years, I have played only 2 games that were not availabe on the xbox one: Baldur's Gate 3 and a small indie game. This gen is the absolute worst and companies are already talking about ps6 and new box. Why?

I have a ps4 pro with an ssd in it. Load times are pretty impressive for a decade old console it made me not get the ps5 but also I have a pretty powerful gaming pc.

where i live pc parts are insanely expensive and aren't really widely available, even new generation consoles are still expensive, but the previous generation (xbox One, ps4) dropped in price and now are affordable , i play overwatch and some other online free games that's why i bought xbox One x plus the games now are affordable, consoles are nowhere to go, a lot of people want to play without the pc hassel.
Xbox has plenty of games this gen now and incoming. Only sony has no games. They have the least active player base with the least amount of games and they're making the least amount of profit. On top of that…they fudged their console sales numbers…plainly.. they lied to everyone. Xbox is absolutely doing better this gen and moving forward. Obviously. Sony can only afford to advertise anti xbox propaganda and cant make a game to save their brand. Its comical, actually. Bungie is garbage btw… and thats sonys most active studio. The writing is on the wall concerning the 9th Gen Consoles & beyond. The Publishers are concerned with one thing only. (PROFIT & MORE PROFIT). Microsoft was wise to play the long game with GamePass because Xbox have not historically outsold the PlayStation brand. They have increased all tiers of GamePass over the past few years & will continue to push the envelope. Sony's PlayStation Plus service has increased all tiers as well without really offering anymore value. The corporate idea is "Kill physical media then make them pay more for owning nothing." It's called planned obsolescence. With previous generation consoles, you could pop in a disc or cartridge then immediately play the game in complete immersion. No required paid subscriptions, delays of updates, no game server outages, no network outages or anything; just play the game & have fun. Its gotten so bad that they don't even put the entire game on the disc anymore. My point is that these companies don't want their consumers to own anything. They just want mindless sheep purchasing whatever they produce; good, bad or lackluster. We only own the license to purchase an individual copy of games we buy until the company that owns the rights is sold or shuts down. I'm a physical game collector who also has a digital games library as well. There one thing that I do know is that my physical games still play as long as I have hardware to play them on. I can't say the same for digital games. The 9th generation of consoles foreshadows a bleak future of console gaming. I agree that both the PS5 & Xbox Series X are no more than glorified PS4 Pros or Xbox One Xs.
Imagine complaining about people with less money getting to play the same games. I own a PC every new generation is the same for me, unless I upgrade hardware.

There are a load of games appears 5 now so what you're talking about is not true because I've been into my local gamestop and molecule CX and have a load of PS5 totals now also you can play PlayStation 4 games on the PS52 PlayStation 4 games on the PlayStation console 2 So and that's where you're wrong you can play Different games on from whenever console of the same name😅

I'm 41 now, my first consoles were the Master System and the NES. In relation to there times, this has easily been the least enjoyable generation of console.
How can you say this when you only had 2 ps5 games? You didn’t play the majority of their exclusives. Sounds like you’re not a real gamer. Show me your psn, guaranteed it’s not that high. You mentioned cross gen yet you said BOTW and mario kart when they are basically wiiu games. Not keeping the same energy.

Only reason to get an Xbox series X is to play PC games I played years ago like Age of empires, or mountain Blade banner lord,.. remind me why anybody should get a console at this point when the good titles stopped at the 360/PS2 era
Ive been catching up on my PS4 backlog more than anything. I already have stick drift on my controller after 4 months. Remaster this, remaster that….Im not impressed with PS5. At least I got a good cash exchange for my PS4 Pro bundle to justify my purchase, I guess….

The concerns I have is that the companies will cease physical media. I tell people, if you can't hold it, you don't own it. In my digital library I've lost over $1,200 due to games delisted or removed from access. With the 9th Gen pushing more digital, I'm concerned I won't have games any longer.
Thank God I still have SNES and Genesis games.
We’re into the law of diminishing returns now. Nothing will impress like going from 2D to 3D or SD to HD, it’s all incremental improvements most people don’t give a shit about.
VR has been popping my top in recent years. The only thing that feels bloody amazing and new even though I’ve been farting around with it for ten years now. I love it.

i think ps2 was the best generation the only good game series that are still kicking come from the ps2 i think for the future of console is there is no future just buy a pc you have more of it and you could upgrade its the only upgrade you can do to a console is to buy the next gen until it come obselite for the next 5 years

As a PS5 owner, I basically use it as a PS4. Never owned a PS4 though, so I say my money was worth it.

I could argue against Spider-Man and Ratchet being system sellers, they quite literally are, but that’s really besides the point. 2 games is not worth the price or investment of the current gen.

I think PS5 or XSX are the best consoles to play games on because they are faster and backwards compatible. But my problem is the games are expensive. There's a lot i can do with the money for Dragons Dogma 2. I could've bought a PS5 but instead i used the money to handle lots of problems in my house and personal life. I think you have to be rich or very comfortable to game right now. And you have to spend lots of money on Internet data to stream games or so on.
