  1. Why am i not surprised that the more modern games are on the bottom of the list? Maybe because pokemon company has been releasing as little content as possible for the same price?

  2. The first 5 generations of Pokemon games were amazing. It never got better. The music, the pixel art, the Pokemon. All of it was incredible.

  3. I dont get it. Heartgold is by far the worst pokemon game ive had played. Wtf level-curve, boring fights, strange mechanics, the stupidity of the second alibi region, no exploring….platin and white are both WAY better.

  4. After this video I wanted to play heartgold again, so I checked the prices and now I’m shocked… I gifted mine to a child some years ago 🙁

  5. This was the video where I discovered that YT comments with time-stamps pops up as the video is at that exact time. Nice!

  6. I would happily buy older Pokemon games like HeartGold or SoulSilver if they were available on the Switch eShop.

  7. Skipped to the end. Saw HGSS at number 1. Contenment. Went back to watch the whole video.

  8. HG/SS have 16 gyms and rematches but BW2 have PWT that include all gym leaders and champions from gen 1-5 make it a peak game easily .
Still imo Emerald is the hardest to get 100% clearage cuz of battle frontier especially battle palace and battle tower …and Platinum deserve some respect too by being one of the hardest game there even tho the hp bar drop very slowly…

  9. My favourite Pokémon game of all time is emerald and I'm so happy to see it in the top 3. Oh good old times❤

  10. It’s time to put the old formula to rest and treat legends as the new mainline Pokémon titles. Loved the old formula but it’s time for something new

  11. Here me out sword and shield is good for building teams to play with friends and last game that battle tower witch it’s the #1 reason why I hated scarlet and voliet

  12. New switch owner here – scarlet/violet or arceus to get into pokemon? Does playing the latest installment matter? Think COD?

  13. Time heals all wounds, apparently. As someone who grew up with each of these games as they came out, I can assure you Gen 5 was not revered in the slightest. And Gen 6 was also panned pretty hard upon release and rollout.

This fandom especially, expects a lot but doesn’t allow whatever is new to breathe and be its own thing. And it usually takes time passing before people begin to realize just how good you had it on some of these.

I will say tho, Scarlet and Violet is so far from the worst it’s laughable. That game may stumble on its own ambition but the story, pokemon and extra elements added to this newest gen do a lot for the franchise as a whole.

  14. My disappointment surrounding bdsp is palpable. The 2 things that make the originals practically unplayable (for me) nowadays are the single use tms and the need for at LEAST 1 hm slave in your party. But when they were announced i was so unbelievably excited that i would finally be able to go back and play the games i grew up on in a way i can bear nowadays. NOPE! On the bright side, the legends arceus and hopefully Z-A, are bringing that excitement back into the games for me. Just the best games to come out since platinum in my opinion

  15. It's 2024. I just played Black 2. Still currently playing B2. It is now my favorite pokemon game of all time.

  16. Honestly, Sun/Moon should be at the bottom, just above BD/SP. The concept was there, but the games were so slow and easy and way too hand-holdy. Played every game since Gen 1 as a kid and S/M were the only games I actually just stopped playing without finishing and waited years before going back and finishing out of spite. The rest of the list is pretty accurate for the most part.
