The only thing keeping me on Windows at this point is FL Studio. If I can be sure that I can use my favourite DAW and all of my VSTs and peripherals will work, I'll happily make the swap.
it’s really anoying that half the time the rog allys controls are not recognized. I never had that issue with the steam deck. and I just blame windows. because the work fantastically with bassite OS on rog ally
I force to use ubuntu because of ROCM and I stil hating it as always. It still suck so much crash so hard to install something. Its so far away from normal user can handle.
I'm waiting for the day that I can build a system and just install Steam OS. That's all I really needed. Been only using Windows for compatibility with games. I cannot wait for it!
It really is pretty freaking amazing. I'm primarily a single player gamer so more or less everything I want to run will run on Linux. I want to thank all the developers that helped make this happen I really do. This was and still iis a herculean task.
Yeah gaming on linux is a lie. Game might work. But my controller doesn't.
Fix ps4 and ps5 controller support.
I spent months configuring, ricing and optimising my linux environment. When I wanted to try a game on it. Didn't work. Thats why I have only 300Gb for linux and every other drive and partition is for windows.
Windows is not going to die. Enterprise and other business customers are the principal customers for Windows. Technically savvy individual users can switch to Linux. Other individual users are just going to suck it up except for those few who may get by on a Chromebook or have the money to switch to a mac.
The thing that makes their compatibility so good is the proton compatibility layer (based on a project called wine) and its just part of steam on Linux. Dont install steam through the flatpak if you can avoid it though its a pain in the ass to get working on some distros.
My only reason still using windows is android emulator to play Arknights
Weird that Linux can't do it as good as windows
Anyone claiming windows is going to die is a brainlet. Imagine thinking gamers account for the majority of windows users. Lmao.
Steam os for pc is all what i need.

Steam OS is legit fantastic
Yeah I'll stick to Windows thanks. SteamOS looks good but only for games, it's pretty weak when using other programs.
Yeah no thanks
Not to mention old none stream games.
SteamOS is still stupid Linux and if you use shitty steamOS you forever locked to steam. No thank you!!!!
How is linux complex ?
Steam also runs great on Ubuntu, most Windows gamea run fine out of the box thanks to the builtin Proton feature.
Valve has been prepping this since the previous crap version of Windows.
yeah, the steam deck made linux gaming "easy" not like i have to reset it twice, once cuz i paused an update and the second for an unknown reason :I

Gamepass would like to have word with you
I love using Linux. Mainly the Ubuntu variant.
just make games auto linux compatible, and that's enough.
I'm actually more okay with windows than steam os only because there's so many games that aren't on steam

Anticheat being windows exclusive is what makes me not use SteamOS
I don’t like controllers though

Damn. Never heard of someone excited for a product to die
What if SteamOS can run normal in Laptop?
