It’s more likely that the Pro will release without a disc drive like the slim, the same disc drive would be available for the pro like the slim, makes more sense and would stream line the manufacturing process

It wouldn't be a surprise for them to make a Vol 2 of the Master Collection and include MGS4.

It would make sense to make the PS5 Pro physically seem as similar as possible; especially if you want a version that is compatible with the faceplates.

I’m not sure what to do about the Pro. I’ve been looking at spending around £1500 (can go higher) on a PC for gaming. Have some specs in my head but I’m so invested in the PlayStation brand I just don’t seem to be able to pull the trigger on my purchase. I’ve been on PlayStation since the first one released but now I’ve had a taste of 60fps and higher, I can’t even settle for 40fps with VRR on my LG TV.

i'd suspect the GPU is a rx7800xt (3090ti) equivalent considering the base model uses a slightly buffed rx6700.

It's the same disc drive.. they're only making digital and u add the disc drive this will save Sony money till PlayStation 6 .. to which they may do the same…..

Nearly 700 without a disc drive! My goodness, this thing is for no one by Ponies. Just get a PC at that point. This will be sold at a loss too and the console sales have already stagnated with half of the Playstation fanbase still on PS4. Terrible idea after terrible idea.

The ps5 pro looks like crap Sony is just not trying anymore I might as well keep my base model ps5 and upgrade my pc, no matter what you say about gta6 on ps5 pro, pc will be the definitive way to play gta6 especially when graphic mods release for the game.

I’m going to be kinda pissed if there’s ABSOLUTELY no disc drive option (if you can at least BUY a disc-drive expansion bay for it, that’s at least SOMETHING, but I’m not exactly going to be HAPPY ABOUT IT).

I guess I could keep my old PS5 model around for the hundreds of physical PS4/PS5 games I ALREADY OWN, but that’s STILL not an elegant solution (and also makes ANYTHING I ALREADY HAVE that gets a FUTURE PS5 Pro patch USELESS unless I decide to throw up my hands and convert to REBUYING EVERYTHING digitally, which is TOTAL HORSECRAP).

I already took the governor out of my PS5 and jetted the carb. Did an override on the boost clock and soldered in an external regulator unit module

It is technically not 100% confirmed, but the Switch 2 will probably be announced next month. That's probably why the partners Direct and Indie showcase came out this month instead of next month. I wouldn't be surprised if the PS5 pro will be overshadowed by the Switch 2 announcement, the successor for the third most successful game consoles ever

Can it play crysis? No really i know its just rumors but if it can't play ps3 discs ill never have a reason to buy ps5 and just wait to see what PS6 offers.
