Okay, this handheld might be “THE ONE”

I’ve had the Anbernic RG35XXSP for about three months now, and I’m playing it more than ever. In this video we’re going to talk about how I’ve configured it and why it’s quickly becoming my favorite budget handheld of all time — it’s a rare handheld that just seems to get better and better.

  1. Failure rate of 0.006 % is hardly a concern, really. 3 out of 50,000 devices. I'd say that's a lot less than the amount of EV's that have popped….. Or maybe I'm making that up…. I'd rather just replace a $50 toy than a car.

  2. I held off on buying one as long as possible. Then I saw this handheld for the magical price of 59.99 (incl shipping) and I went for it. Been playing on it every single day since.

  3. MuOS is kinda ugly though 😢
Is there no ES with that closing mechanism? Can you use scraped images from ES? We need some MuOS guide 😅

  4. I was going to buy this model, but i recently had a technical problem with a particular game on many emulators i tried: Power Mission for the Nintendo Gameboy is missing an entire music channel (the bass).

And I noticed this because i grew up playing this game, original cartridge on an original gameboy. So my point is that I don't know if this issue is present on all these consoles too… Since they are emu based. Will have to make time to explore this issue a bit more and know the possible causes.

  5. Hoping to see a comparison between this older version and the newer revision.

  6. Why is nobody reviewing the new 8bitdo ultimate 2c yet??? Im thirsty for reviews they added bluetooth, hall sticks, and l4 + r4 buttons without increasing the price for $30 it seems like an insane deal

  7. Hey Russ! Which handheld would you (or the community) recommend, mainly for travel, to play up to PS2 (maybe not all games but most). I guess a balance of portability and compatibility. I was tossing up between the RG cube and the Pocket 4 pro, but there’s a decent price difference for me in Aus. Thanks!!

PS: I have been loving your channel in the search for my first retro handheld! 🙌

  8. Hello Russ, I know this is not related to this video but your other videos for the rg351v are old and I don’t think you will notice my message there. In your video, you took out the bios files from the original cheap sd card and transferred to a new better card. My problem is I purchased a used device and the previous owner messed around with it and it does not have any of the original os firmware including the bios files. Is there a way that I can get it up and running?

  9. I just watched an old video you posted about a year ago. You said that the ayn Odin lite is the cheapest handheld for GameCube. Is that still true? Would you recommend something else? Possibly cheaper?

  10. USD $52 is like a week's job in my country u_u, but I hope to save some money to buy it.
I LOVE the clamshell design of the old GBA SP, THAT'S A REAL PORTABLE CONSOLE!

  11. Stil massively prefer Knulli over Muos. Sorry, not sorry. Customizations are the same, if not better on Knulli. I don't understand the muos hype.

  12. I've tried the last three versions of muos. I've read all the documentation googled and tried multiple ways. But no matter what I do and no matter what setting I choose or what size picture I scrape the box art takes almost a full screen and covers up all the game list text. And each time I'll mess with it for a couple hours and then finally give up and go back to Knulli or modified stock. If they eventually make it easier to add artwork and add scraper support then maybe I'll try it again. but I've already wasted way too much time to bother with Muos anymore until then.

  13. Saved up all my allowance money to get a game based on my favorite Mario character from Mario Kart, Tennis, Party, etc. Yoshi's Story on the N64. Got it, it was way too easy and I beat it in a day. I then learned what buyer's remorse was. Not a bad game, but I had aged past its intended audience. Yoshi still rules tho.

  14. great video. I don't understand why someone in 2024 wouldn't care about Bluetooth in a handheld device. Bluetooth is crucial nowadays; nobody uses wired earbuds anymore, especially in public transportation. If you still do, you should embrace technology to let it make your life 100 times easier.

  15. How much better is this than the Powkiddy V90? What am I missing out on if I stay out with my v90?

  16. The only handheld I use on a regular basis, playing through all the 16-bit Castlevania games I never played at release.

  17. If i have a miyo mini plus with a perfectly programmed sd card that has onion os, can I take that sd card, stick it in this thing and have it work right away?

  18. First of all, I 100% agree with your sentiments. I adore mine and haven't picked up my stream deck since the SP arrived. I take it everywhere and feel that retro gaming on the SP feels better than let's say a more modern handheld and I get very little "battery anxiety" because it the battery life is great. Also, my order took a long time to arrive and I feel that they might have stopped some orders before fixing some of the issues. My device says "Only can use certified charger the battery may explode in fire" at the bottom and I'm not sure the first batch said that lol. Been charging it with my steam deck's charger exclusively and no explosions yet 😂.

  19. Just bought my 3rd one. Will be a present for my younger brother. We share our SNES collection. It took me too many years but I finally beat Lufia 2. I never have enough time to play any games at home. This clamshell lets me beat them now.
