I definitely noticed that none of them wanted to be wrong on Hellblade 2 and most of the topics on this episode.

Saying God of war is shit and that The last of us is gameplay wise horrible , that guys knows nothing about games and should not be talking about them. You can like hellBlade 2 all you want but don't tell me it's better than those two games because it's not even close to it. Not by a distant galaxy does it come close

I was a xbox guy but im moving to ps5 and have both xbox and playstation game on one system 🤷‍♂️

Zalker doesn't get it. Saying that the story in the first one was about Senua going to Helheim to save her lovers soul, is like saying that Ingmar Bergman's "Seventh Seal" is about some guy playing Chess with Death on the beach. It is that, but it is so much more than that. Games as art is cool. Seventh Seal wasn't a huge summer blockbuster, but it is something important to the history of film. This game isn't that level of art yet, but the medium should move in that direction if it can.

I agree with so much with what Fonz & Zalker had to say. The OG HB games was developed with 20 people, HB2 was developed with 80 people. I think the game should’ve been more ambitious than what they delivered.

Hargeet is delusional & I don’t understand how his voice is heard on gaming podcasts other than his philanthropy for game codes lol. He brings zero credibility to a show & when he’s on it’s like an Alex Jones segment. NT could’ve pulled that game off as an independent.

Completely disagree with you and Zalker on HB2 and I enjoyed the first game. Hellblade 2 exceeded my expectations and it was a graphical, cinematic masterpiece. It was an enthralling intense experience that had me involved the entire time! For me it’s worthy of a GOTY nomination and other accolades 10/10.

Really excited for the Xbox showcase, gonna be huge!

Why is Hargeet trying to say to Zalker87 that he's got the story wrong about the first Hellblade when you can go on Wikipedia, and it clearly states:

"The game follows Senua, a Pict warrior who must make her way to Helheim by defeating otherworldly entities and facing their challenges in order to rescue the soul of her dead lover from the goddess Hela".

Ever time Hargeet starts talking I turn this podcast off. So many of his ps talking points are disingenuous.

God of war should have kept the same format as they did in parts 1 2 and 3 and just emphasize larger play areas.

Hellblade 2 has the most pretentious smelling their own farts story I've ever "eXpErIeNcEd"

Also, HB2 was not in development for 7 years, they didn't even start production when they showed it at the VGAs. They've confirmed the game was development for a little less than 4 and they had to halt production during Covid. All in all it was maybe around 3.5 years of development.

All I remember about the early HB marketing was that they said they're redoing all the mocap and making it more believable than it was in the first. I remember I was taking flack on a few Xbox channels because I was saying that I don't think the combat is going to be the focal point of the game and that it won't be much different than it was in the first game. However, if someone plays this game not liking the type of game it is or hoping it was going to be something different, I don't think you can knock the score for that. Its like playing CoD and giving it a low score because its not a 3rd person PVE shooter. You need to score a game based on what it is, not what you were hoping it was going to be.

I know he is not implying Hellblade 2 has better GAMEPLAY than last of us especially part 2??

Personally I enjoyed Hellblade 2 as an experience. And I respect anyone that says they enjoyed it as well but to call God of War boring just to defend the game is absolutely ridiculous 🤣.

Zalker spot-on with the Steam Deck. It’s the best piece of hardware I’ve purchased in the last decade.

Another misconception is that "value" is just equal to "hard dollars". The technical IP from Hellblade 2 has actual value (things that will translate to dollars down the line) to Microsoft, and if somehow it doesn't — they are fumbling the ball.

The comments about Steam numbers need to be discussed within the frame of reference of Game Pass — HB1 had to sell traditionally, as the subscription model didn't exist.

FWIW, a lot of opinions here I don't necessarily agree with — but it's an interesting discussion nonetheless.

If you didn’t like HB1, and you ended up not liking HB2 — that makes complete sense to me. It’s not like you’re one of these disingenuous people giving HB1 huge praise and then saying HB2 is trash, which is worthy of criticism.
