MONSTERS: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story | Official Trailer #1 | Netflix

Following the success of DAHMER, MONSTERS: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story is the newest addition to Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s “Monster” anthology series, chronicling the case of the real-life brothers convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents, José and Kitty Menendez. While the prosecution argued they were seeking to inherit their family fortune, the brothers claimed – and remain adamant to this day, as they serve life sentences without the possibility of parole – that their actions stemmed out of fear from a lifetime of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. The show also stars Cooper Koch (Erik Menendez), Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Lyle Menendez), Nathan Lane (Dominick Dunne), Ari Graynor (Leslie Abramson).

  1. They planned the murders. Not everyone whose been abused kills. Listen to the testimony. I'm not saying they were not abused, however they were both grown, leave home if its not about money. Also why didn't the Menudo man testify at the trial or after? Maybe because the brothers appeals ran out. Question everything.

  2. Song: Dirty Cash (Money Talks)- The Adventures of Stevie V (Sold Out 7 Inch Mix, I believe).

  3. Damn, whoever cut this trailer should earn double than Kathleen Kennedy. I dont expect that somebody understands the irony in this comment. So: F.U.

  4. my friend said I was insane to compare their story and why they should be freed to gypsy rose’s..like obviously the details and events are different but bottom line both the brothers’ and gyspy’s parents took advantage of them in some way, so when I say the Mendez brother deserve the same freedom she got it shouldn’t be doubted. People love to throw in the whole shopping spree as an excuse to them actually truly being guilty and bad people but I just don’t buy that… the money was there when the parents were born I truly think they could’ve and probably did have some occasions where they did blow money while the parents were still alive. I just think to genuinely disregard the Lyle and Erik’s stories is to overlook the fact that they were guys going through sexual abuse in a time (and even still thought of today) when it was aid men couldn’t be raped.

  5. You would think all the people who came to get Damien Echols out of prison would’ve done the same for these brothers. I know they actually committed murder but isn’t there empathy for them?

  6. Real Gregg Araki vibes here. Reminds me of something like The Living End. Araki directed some of the first season, wouldn't be surprised to see him directing this time as well.

  7. I think this will be the first production where the parents are not portrayed as the victims and their abuse gets highlighted. Im excited for this bc Netflix rarely misses with their docuseries. Can’t wait to tune in

  8. It’s so ridiculous that they’re locked up. They went from one prison to another. The cops, news media, and worst of all the judicial system completely failed them. It really is a shame. They had their lives ripped from them so incredibly unfairly.

  9. Parents bad yada yada yada but seriously people who let their intrusive thoughts win could never walk amongst free anymore

  10. I like how this trailer interpreted, the first scene was the offscreen killing, than the brothers lavishing. Making us think they are spoiled brat, murder for greed. Then, the second part we see how the brothers lived before murdering them, than the last scene is jose sexually abused them. Just to see the horrifying truth and the reason of killing, makes us think who the real monsters.

  11. They deserve their lives back!!!! Also lots of therapy!!!! Ive been abused and its unfair.
