Is it a scam to use emulation to write video game reviews? My answer might surprise you. Smash JT recently did a video on Pat Contri’s forthcoming N64 book, and he called it a scam because Pat and his contributing writers use emulation. I prefer original hardware and original cartridges and discs and use them extensively when I can, but what is my take on emulators? Particularly for writing about games? Thanks for watching my answer!

I agree Brett. I do think that using an original controller, or a modern remake of that controller, is needed though since so much of the game play is predicated on how that console’s controller feels in your hand in conjunction with the game play.
