Fallouts 1, 2, 3 and New vegas are all roleplaying games. 4 is more of a survival game than roleplay, but still pretty fun.

Fallout 76 is a multiplayer survival game, more or less just Fallout 4 with a bigger map and more players.

And I don't know much about tactics, so I can't really say anything about it.

It seems everyone who reacted to the fallout trailers watched the same video that left out most of the trailers….

Great you enjoyed the trailer. It's well made but definitely not a good fallout show.
Bethesda's Fallout sucks. That's just how it is.. They destroyed the entire old fallout lore.
You will hear that more if you talk to original fallout fans.. Bethesda never understood Fallout or it's mentality.
They think that's its about the 50s in a apocalyptic world but it's actually about the 50s world that was destroyed in an ultimate world conflict and mad max arose from that world. It makes no sense that people wear fine outfits in this world because they don't know a THING from the old world.
But they don't need the original fallout fans because they're fallout is for the masses.. Not for fans.
Fallout is not an post apocalyptic world.. It's a post post apocalyptic world.. People began building society's and factions with their ideology and believe started to confront each other but they are not black and white.
There were civilizations like the NCR with probably a million souls living in their borders.. The show looks like we came straight outta the great war. That's not fallout.
No villian or good guy in fallout was ever pure white or pure black.. They had many Grey points.
Until Bethesda..
And the west coast was well established in the first two games and NV (the games that were not made from Bethesda) now all of sudden locations have changed.. Factions are completely different and the NCR are raiders now.. The B.o.S are white Christian males and we know white Christians are bad bad bad.. Males are also Bad Bad.. And Maximus is basically Finn from Star Wars: a black comedy person that is just there so that the show won't be canceled.

It's hard to understand if the show or fallout 3, 4 or 76 is the first experience you have with fallout.
But Fallout isn't Fallout anymore.
An example: Imagine Isengard from LOTR was now all of sudden in the shire.. Doesn't make no F sense right? Well that's the thing with Bethesda's Fallout. And the worst thing is that people actually hype about it.
It's an glorified humiliation ritual for original fallout and the original lore.. The original vibe and mentality of fallout.

I see there is no Fallout: Tactics "war never changes" section but this is fine because while the game is partially canon, the "war never changes" section definitely is not because it's story contradicts the previous games a bit.
4 and 76 also have "war never changes" section but I see they are missing too.

You can feel FREE to go ahead and PLAY all the Fallout soundtracks, (the songs, not the FO title theme music),they use exclusively music from 70+ years ago, it’s all out of copyright.
