I'm still waiting on Asus to refund or replace the A52j laptop, that I bought through college back in september 2010!

Every student that bought that exact model, had the plastic bezels and casing crumble and fall apart after just 6 to 12 months of normal use! Asus claimed set damage was due to misuse of the device, thus they refused to fix the issue under warranty. Well, I've refused to buy anything branded Asus, for the past 14 years!

Asus management should replace the first 's' in their brand-name with an 'n', in order to know where to shove it!

I'm getting some clicking in my ally x, when I boot up, sounds almost like maybe something in a fan, I have opened and swapped my 4tb silicon power drive into it, I posted a video on redit, melodicsummer user name, like to find out what this is, only heard a click here n there when booting, but in the video I was moving the ally in my hands flipping the top towards me and away and was the most I've had clicking , you can hear it in the video, almost like something moving around inside..don't think its crunching from any speakers, not coming from bottom of ally, maybe a fan or something more in the back or top of my ally x..

honestly to me the only handheld PC that's competitive right now is still the Deck. Windows on these machines is FAR too clunky and annoying to use. And I'm sure Valve would be willing to work with Asus and other manufacturers directly to ship steamOS products and if not the major stuff you'd need from SteamOS is all opensource and like Android they can use the foss stuff and create a good product still.

All of these devices are great BUT they are pushing to much on performance. 90hz OLED with low/mid resolution is great compromise here.
I dont like steam deck for his slow HW it should be modernized, at least to new zen architecture until then is no go for me. BUT it has at least some sw support. Rest of these devices is just stick hw together with windows on it and good luck wishes from manufactuer.

Really dont understand how Sony can miss the market here do something with support of ps3 or 4 games. (you dont have to run latest aa titles) with some battery life, descent display and handling quality and people with be happy. They must be really blind or lazy.

Asus is garbage, im not sorry at all, ive got a 5 year old hp laptop that is more reliable than my asus gaming pusbucket laptop. even the usbc fittings are shite on the asus at 4 x the price of the hp its riddiculous. My asus phone… yeah i sold it at a giant loss because it had sooo many problems that i went back to a s21 ultra, my asus router, yeah you guessed it, garbage, i need to reset it at midnight every night for it to work due to shit firmware. its chinese rubbish thats shiny.

Ah well, maybe next time Asus

£800 in the UK, i'd be better off with a gaming laptop for that.

I'm not gonna lie, I already modded my rog Ally with a Samsung 980 pro with a heatsink and the back still fits on, all you have to do is snip some unnecessary support pieces and it fits perfectly.

Considering most people have gaming laptops already and the Steamdeck oled is still better
