I dont think the joycons themselves need a touch pad. The Switch is touch screen so in portable mode no need to worry about point and clicks not working because you can just tap where to click. But I think a touch pad on the grip for useing the joycons in docked mode would be a great addition. Could also open up a touch pad on switch 2 pro controllers

I feel like the switch two would be "backwards compatible" old cartridges wouldn't work, and the games didn't carry over, but you wouldn't have to recompile games or anything, like litterally the same file types

Personally, I don’t care much about graphics, although if it looked a teeny bit better I would be fine. I’d much rather have them focus on a higher fps (30 being minimum because I’ve never seen a huge problem with 30 fps) and most importantly, having a better hard drive. 500 gigabytes would be much better than the 32 on the regular switch I’m pretty sure. Also having much more quality control on the eshop, along with having eshop music cause cmon I love it. Also, just a better ui design, since the switch’s ui is just so boring and soulless. If it had all of that it would probably be the perfect console for me ngl

If Nintendo are going with a similar form factor then it'd be a mistake to call it anything but the Switch 2.

I really hope the next Nintendo console will be much like the Switch, I enjoy the silent and extremely portable handheld mode, I don't use the dock at all. I hope it has OLED and no camera.

Honestly, I would take lower resolution for high FPS… tired of first party Nintendo games running like 3rd party ripoff games

I dont think it's coming till next year or the year after. Our local GameStop said it was coming this spring and now they are saying its coming this fall . Thats impossible when its not been revealed or announced yet we dont even know what it's called or what it will look like . usually consoles get announced first then revealed shortly after sometimes around four to six months later and even a year after then shortly after that it goes on sale . None of this has happened so to say its coming out in three months or even six months is crazy and baseless. Unless they break all the rules and shadow drop an entire console and next gen games without any marketing with is possible but very very unlikely.

i feel like the whole joycon idea is just a gimmick that shouldn't be carried over to the new console. i don't think much of anything from the switch should be carried over in fact, besides the portability. just focus on making a powerful handheld device with great battery life and large storage, and they'll already have a homerun.

although i do still think they will launch a "cloud-only" device that will piss literally everybody off, and only play streamed games, on top of being an inferior product to the switch in every imaginable way, even if the new games they release will have parity with sony and microsoft in theory.

They should make it so you can disconnect the two screens of which are usually connected with magnets so you can connect the second screen to the tv and can play primarily on the tv and have something like a minimap on the normal screen, kinda like the ds, 2ds, and 3ds but on crack.

The 'switch too' will be backwards compatible… The only reason the Switch and N64 and gamecube weren't was because of jumping hardware. N64 and Switch had way different cartridges than the SNES and 3DS, and akin to the GameCube, the Switch didn't use discs.

I think a controller that magnetically attaches to the side. And maybe even magnetically hotswapable comments would be amazing.

They could have made the switch have an extra screen half underneath the oled by sliding the first screen up and a switch pen + you could even play the 3ds and DS games too in order for it too be fully backwards compatible to the ds generation. I like that you can switch the joy-con when they are teared up after they won't work anymore, and you just buy a new one set. However, I don't like that the switch is 16:9 it could have been 4:3 without bezel or a bit wide to fit the eyes when using it in handheld mode. The dock is great I like it, but they could have made a dock that supports 4k like how Marseille mClassic hdmi plug and play works with the switch in order to upscale image and fps to 1440p/60fps and making the dock hold to two generation of nintendo consoles after buying a new console that nintendo releases and the 8 inch new switch is a bit overkill, I would rather have an 6,2 inch switch oled without bezel. I would even see a better switch with more ram and better graphics (we are in a modern era).
