Game Pass Price Hike; Standard Tier Removes New Game Releases Internet Outrage!

TBF, even with the incoming price increase, #GamePass highest tier (full access) still represents tremendous value for money to consumers who don't mind NOT owning games, and for those 'off radar' games consumers wouldn't have necessarily been interested in w/out GP access. I like to own my games though,

I don't get all the praise lavished on MS for their game showcase last month. FFS, they paid $69 Billion to own nearly every major game publisher… OF COURSE they are going to have a ton of games "in the pipeline" to show off! This isn't some great achievement on their part. It's the bare minimum one would expect from a $69B outlay of cash to own 90% of the games on the planet.

The long term problem has always been that the customer has no ability to make their voice heard on what games they do and do NOT want when they just have to accept whatever Xbox decides to cram down their throats because “It’s on Game Pass Guys!”

Meanwhile PS Plus Premium is £120 a year and is worth more than GP Ultimate for less

I only subscribe to PS+ essential as I buy my games on PS (I only have this for the game save backups), and I buy Gamepass ultimate when there is nothing I fancy on PS5. When I have been on Gamepass I’ve been buying cheaper 1 or 2 month subscriptions from different digital keys websites 👌

This isn’t a shock to anyone, even the people that support Xbox.

Even before MS dropped $100B on acquisitions so many people said Game Pass wasn’t sustainable and Phil Spencer lied about it saying it was doing. When asked directly Sony eventually stated they would not implement a Game Pass like model because it was unsustainable.

This is just what was always going to happen.

At a certain point, once they the rest of the tiers set they will phase out the existing OG Game Pass tier.

I also unsubscribed my kids from Game Pass they only really play Fortnight and Roblox COD Warzone so they good as they all free to play I've also most Xbox exclusives also a PS5 I don't do Ps plus I buy physical so yeah this new wave is only gonna get more expensive as you've mentioned

Their goal is to control all your entertainment! Then when they own it all start charging you more and more and if you don't pay up you'll never be able to play your loved franchise or games again ! First and foremost internet on consoles should be free there is no need to charge just to use the internet on your plastic box.

PlayStation Plus and Xbox game pass are scams honestly if you buy the game it should be yours you don't have to pay and then be locked out of your account if you don't pay after you bought those games on your console.

Console players including the XBOT & PONYS pay nearly double for internet and let me tell, you don't need to Pay Steam to have access to your games that you bought from the Steam store, you only need to pay AT&T and Spectrum T-Mobile or even Verizon for having access to Internet and you don't have to pay anybody else on PC.

And if the Fanboys in the comment section don't like it then you are the problem on why paying for internet on an Xbox or Playstation is still a thing.

Gamepass Core, PlayStation+ Essential should be free Microsoft and Sony are the biggest scammers of a lifetime and you guys don't even rise up your hand to say enough is enough.

Maybe now people will realize Game Pass is a scam.

Maybe I see this differently as I am more a playstation gamer then XBOX but if I look at the average game is basically $80 depending on tax. You would be buying a game every 4 months at $20 a month which is basically 3 games a year. I know for a fact I seen more then 3 games I liked at the showcase so I'm not bothered by the increase and really expected this. This doesn't include the hidden gem games you might run across too.

PS Plus Premium where I live is $189.99 and now the tier I need for Game Pass is $311.88 so I will not renew when it comes time to for Game Pass.

For the price of two full priced games, you can get GamePass for a year… it's still worth it by miles. Every service is increasing their prices.

I agree with this video 100%. I'm just like you. I have had GamePass Ultimate for 3 years. However I feel it's a waste because all the games on Gamepass that I like I already own either physically or digitally and the only online game that I play on my Xbox is that old Star Wars Battlefront 2 that came out like five or six years ago. I'm wondering why I've been paying for my subscription for 3 years when I hardly ever use it except every year when MLB The Show comes I'll play that for a few weeks and when a new Yakuza game is put on GamePass 70 bucks but other than that I basically have the service so I don't have to change disc for games that I own already. And I saw the same is true for my PS Plus subscription. The only online game that I play on it is Call of Duty so basically I just have that service so I can play games that I already own without having to change the disc so I might get rid of both of these services soon every single Samsung mostly buy my games digitally now anyway and don't have to worry about putting the disc in.

Well I'll say keep playing these Xbox games and let the Xbox rewards keep you going or help reduce the price.

How many game pass subscribers are actually recurring?
I see people brag all the time about how they let a bunch of games build up and then just pay the £8.99 for one month and immediately cancel. Then use the remaining 30 days to complete said games. Wait another 6 months or so and repeat the process.

A friend of mine already plans to wait to December, subscribe for just one month and cancel, then go through Avowed, Indiana Jones and CoD campaign before the end of that month.
He has only subscribed once this year for Hellblade II. £8.99.
For December he will have to pay £14.99 with this new price/tier change.
But still that is a grand total of £23.98 Microsoft would have made off of him for this entire year. That is all they get from him. He mostly play Fortnite on his PS5. He calls his Series S the "bargain box" and only uses it for sparse game pass grabs.

How many others do this though? And how much are MS losing from it?

I think im good that a big price increase you might as well wait and get the games you want on sale . Instead of game pass thats what I've been doing . I guesing they increased the price of game pass because the lack of sustainability of game pass.

My wife recently got an Xbox just to play fable. She really hasn't played much, much more like an entertainment system piece really. The PS5 in our bedroom and I'm on it every other day. I told her if she had gamepass she could play all the fables. She was smart and bought a 360 copy of the game!

My rules about videogames:

1) Never preorder again.

2) Buy physical games only unless it's an indie worthy it game.

3) Don't purchase any game that has wokeness in it. The reson for wokeness is to destroy family values, gender identity, relationSHIPS, to feminize men and to masculinize women.

4) Do not but any game on release day. Many times publishers release an update as in censoring or adding microtransactions after the reviews are in. Being an impulse buyer enslaves you.

5) Any older games that get remade, most likely will be altered with wokeness for the modern audience a.k.a. weak minded droness that are easily manipulated emotionally a.k.a children in grown up bodies.

6) Do not trade games in the store, only with friends, coworkers etc.

7) Do not buy live service games (Helldivers 2 was an exception for me), I'm 99% a single player person.

Do not blame any developer/publisher/politician-governement), just go in front of the mirror for the source of the poison or the remedy. Anyone that takes advantage of your money is smart, and that makes you stupid. Everything is energy, they provide the games for money in exchange. If you complain that you had a bad experience, then go in front of the mirror about your poor, unintelligent choice

8)Enjoy the experience of playing videogames but dont be attached to this activity. Life is beautiful, there are so many beautiful things besides standing in front of the screen.

9) When you purchase new games at Eb games or anywhere else, the case must be wrapped in the plastic. Even if the worker tells you that has no scratches, is like new or whatever other bs reason tells you, you must demand it yo be wrapped. Do not argue/waste time. Unless it's a used game.

For as long as money is in your pocket, you have the power. If the situation requires it, leave the store, you do not have to buy the game, even if it is the last copy. Be a man of principles, do not let corporations and their schemes treating you like an idiot.

10) Never buy scalped products. Scalpers are scums.

I feel like this is a long time coming. I suspect, with the way Microsoft wants to do things, that monthly prices are probably gonna settle around $24.99-$29.99/month on its highest tier eventually in the future.

If you use game pass you're poor, if you don't complain about the price hike you're being scammed / If you don't buy games at full price you're not supporting the industry, if you buy games day one there's no incentive for devs to make good games / microtractions are bad, western devs use predatory practices. As a casual gamer and an Xbox fan, gamepass is utter bullshit.
