You can do beat em’ ups with stuff like He-Man, Thundercats, Gatchaman and especially TMNT. Those were classic series where the main characters didn’t use firearms. In GIJOE, everyone had a gun and everyone was shooting all the time. Making this into a beat em’ up doesn’t really gel with the source material. Maybe if it’d just been Snake Eyes and the Ninja Squad, this could’ve fit. But, this? Why not just make a GIJOE kart racer or puzzle platformer. That’d make about just as much sense.
