Okay, so I have to admit… I may not have gotten the best grades in history, but I'm pretty sure that Katherine Parr didn't kill Henry VIII. And whilst I'm at it, I'm ALSO pretty sure she wasn't arrested and imprisoned as well. What was I expecting? It's a shame, really. The actual history was fascinating enough without having to turn it into some insipid revisionist revenge fantasy. And I had to really LOL at the rest of the genuine "comments" left on here that I'm sure were were most definitely written by actual viewers of this film that were in no way paid by Firebrand's marketing team.

I sometimes wonder whether the wish to see Henry VIII's reign as an intellectual debate between catholicism and Lutheranism, really covers the fact that the whole issue is about Henrys' lust and inability to produce an heir! Henry was in many ways a modern day failed prince Andrew …. I do not pity the catholics or his wives, they knew what the game was about, and how easy a claim of treason could affect them.
Oh thank goodness. This looks like it was about the actual people and their beliefs rather than transplanting a totally different value set that they wouldn't have recognised. Yes. I don't like My Lady Jane. It's a great show but they didn't have to pretend it's based on historical figures.
Gee the six wives of Henry the Eighth. Now that's a story that's never been told. Are there any other movies on this? Don't you think it's about time they start telling some new stories?
