How realistic is sim racing and are we about to see gamers jump into F1 cars for real?
F1 reserve driver Liam Lawson has sat down with BBC Newsbeat to talk about how realistic F1 games like EA’s latest title, F1 24, really are and what it’s like when F1 drivers and sim racers go head-to-head.
He also delves into life living in the UK and the odd comparisons the city where he lives has with the Monaco Grand Prix.

There's one thing that gaming won't teach you.
And that's conquering fear.
F1 is too safe. Put those sim racers in track and cars from the late 60's and they would be terrified.
That's when you know F1 is too safe.
no driving a car & gaming not the same thing
F1 24 is not a sim, it's just an arcade racing game, but if you go with iRacing for example you have scanned cars and tracks, realistic weather with rain, wind, humidity, sun/clouds and if you go to a track like Nurburgring you can have different weather conditions on different parts of the tracks because how big it is, also if starts to rain mid race it will appear first on one part of the track and it will be based on the wind direction that define how the clouds are moving.

Jan Mardenborough went from Esports to real life racing in Le Mans, Igor Fraga a Gran Turismo world champion races in super formula. Sim racing is the most translatable skill to real life
Looks like George Ezra.
I've seen onboards at 100mph+ with better video quality than this lol
No because their gamers…….wtf is life!
Heard a F1 racer years ago say that the tracks in game were identical to the real thing, and that video games would help with training for racing. But what about shooters…militaries use video games too.
