Earth 2 invites you to take a closer look at E2V1 with the official footage release from our GDC San Francisco 2024 showcase reel. E2V1 is a 1:1 scale, playable 3D digital version of our planet Earth and is a work in progress being actively developed.

This real-time, in-game footage offers an updated view of some of the vast and immersive environments of E2V1 as we advance the development and refinement of the geologically accurate, massive open world. Remember, these visuals are from a seamless 510,072,000 km² map!

With a pre-alpha release planned for later this year, part of this footage highlights our progress on dynamic seasons, immersive day-night cycles, and an evolving biome system, all of which contribute to the realism of this expansive virtual environment. The video also showcases breath taking draw distances, seamless transitions from surface to space, and global navigation.

  1. Reminds me of no mans sky, i was so hyped believing them watchings the trailers of unlimited planets, then it came out and was a flop. Hopefully earth 2 is not the same

  2. I believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins and rose again and he's alive and well forever more. I believe God in the flesh is Jesus Christ. Thank you.

  3. This is still a thing?
Well, i need to give credits where credits are for
You are still going on with this project
    😂

  4. This is a perfect map to creat an open world sim type but realistic living game where anything goes. Build up civilization for a zombie apocalypse to strike. Shyt, this would make a great open world zombie apocalypse game

  5. If this project does not actually work PC VR Headsets, I do not find it interesting. Plz.

  6. if you make an explorable google earth i'm all in but i bet this is going nowhere as a functional game as you presented. Good job to the video montage team , pretty good.

  7. So, Why would a play a game that recreates the planet but not the landmarks, cities, towns, fauna? It could be planned for later but It just seems like the real plan is to make players build their own town but that is something that other survival games let you do and with the scale this game wants to be is just not possible. the performance like in 4:19 is something that is most likely to happen
