Ive never played a "licensed" game that I love. Spider-Man was pretty good, but I grow up in an era where if a game was "brand" related it would be horrible and gimmicky. I dont care who my character is, or who is foes are… just give me a good game.

It's not that licensed IP isn't popular…it's that a lot of sane people question the value in 70 dollars US for a game. These developers are forgetting their core audience isn't their overpaid CEOs kids.

Never pre order a game and wait a few months for TRUSTED reviews before buying anything, Game developers cannot be trusted.

I'm so tired of mutiplayer shooter games because people will never stop hacking, the game industry should just focus on singles player games more.

i still have my ps4 that i play older titles on buy older games on eBay is cheap im not going to drop hundreds of dollars for a new gaming console every other year just to play a couple of new games

not a fan of movies to games as I got older. I get how it will appeal to kids but most adults you know are more excited about games for gamers not movies for gamers.

IF EA is only going to do sports and MMOs, then they're dead to me, as I am a solo gamer, along with 90% of regular gamers! But generally, I feel AAA is dying, and indie and AA are taking over. About 80% of my $ spend per year is now these smaller games!

When I hear of layoffs I think "Good more experienced indie developer games!"

EA is the worst virus the world has ever seen. Community wants a Boba Fett game since Star Wars video games exist and these greedy soabs cancel it. They have proven countless times that they don’t give a shit about the players.

I'm glad these so called AAA games are getting cancelled due to the fact that most are been released broke as I'm sick of the attitude of we will fix it later, well I will pay half now and rest later then.

I have been a gamer since 1980.
I have owned nearly every console since then.
I have been a PC gamer since 1999.
Something about PS games and their mechanics which made me feel limited.
I own so many games on my PS5 because I really want to enjoy them, but I never finish them.
The system and the controller feel so good and solid, well made etc.. so do the games, HOLY HELL they are beautiful, but the game mechanics always leave me wanting more.
I hope Sony figures out how to bridge that gap for people like me.
I want to play their exclusives, I want to have a blast playing them, but for some reason I always go back to Xbox, PC and Nintendo.
I'm very disappointed in XBOX also at this point… This is a very odd time in gaming history, I hope for kids in the future that all of this gets resolved.

Obviously, the majority of gamers, must be supporting live service games, no matter how much complaining online people are doing, for darn near every studio to start moving away from licensed games, to create some, always online, live service crap, because every game studio wants a GTA online, a guaranteed billion a year profit game, no matter how many of them fail..The minute these studios started letting talent walk, because its about shareholder profits first, no matter how many "so we can innovate" speeches they gave, was the downward spiral, IMO anyhow..This is all a bad trend for gaming, bad trend for that "save the single player campaign" push, for solo players, because thats all I hear, from almost every single studio, "yeah, we might put out a single player game, here and there, but we want Fortnite, we want GTA online, we want what everyone has, just we want to make it as cheap as possible, so we can maximize our take home" but, again, just one old single player gamers take..lol

Will horizon online be free of I already own the game or do I still have to pay? And is it ps5 only?

Twisted Metal actually sounds like a live service game that could work

Seems like devs focus on live service, micro transaction games vs single player games that are often more expensive due to writers, voice actors, etc.

Live service aint the answer……….

I'm kinda meh about Horizon Online. Don't get me wrong, I love the universe. I just don't know how well it will translate into a live service game. Story and graphics are the series strongest suits, and I'm skeptical how much they can carry that over to a live service. But we'll see I guess. I would not have cried if that was one of the cancelled projects in favor of the mainline Horizon games.

As for Forbidden West, I really think it's scheduling a week before Elden Ring really hurt it. I think there were a lot of people who had to choose one or the other, and I think a lot of those people choose Elden Ring instead.

Let's be optimistic about this: everyone who worked at any company knows there are people who barely do any work, and we all ask why are they even here. And if there's a mass layoff, these people are the first to go. Let's hope they sent away these kind of people mostly.

It's a good thing, Sony is trimming the fat to make room for better projects yet to be announced or leaked.

That's not what Sony said they said no existing AAA ip until 2025 like gow and Spiderman that means technically a new AAA ip is possible they also never said anything about day n date on pc with their live service games it makes sense but there AAA single player games I don't see day n date happening anytime soon

Pfft how can you sell console games to people who CAN'T BUY THE CONSOLE?
I waited over 2 years to just to get a hold of a PS5 console in store. Not everyone wants to pay double the retail price for a console from a scalper.
After speaking to Sony Customer service about this I quickly discovered Sony did FUCK ALL to prevent scalpers buying up their already limited stock.

The future of gaming Will be owned by 1 company and their gonna want everything to be in game transactions taking away creativity and designs

I hate to hear these people getting laid off because some Uber rich person made 100 mil instead of the 120 mil he wanted to make. They make it seem like these profit margins are about to cripple the company. Geez man greed is the devil
