Not for me but I wonder what kind of games would be available for it. Personally I'm good with Nintendo games and some gaming on my m2 mac mini.

It's funny to see this while AAA gaming is crashing. I also finally started using my RTX 4080 for messing with Cyberpunk (which I already own on the Xbox but I wanted to run the mods that make the game look realistic). I mainly used my GPU for rendering 3D scenes, as I work with 3D and VFX for films. Honestly, I can't even look at Cyberpunk on my Xbox anymore and now I truly understand why so many people enjoy gaming on a PC. However… I would love to see more development being done in the VR arena.

I really think Apple should make a game console. They have the power and the money and the technology to do it… and at this point, everyone is tired of Microsoft and Sony’s corporate greed and their bullshit consoles so Apple, please make a game console do it!

There have been rumors of an Apple Console for a while now so it'll be interesting to see what they will do with it. I'd love to get my hands on a beefed-up Mac Studio that can play my Steam collection without having to boot into Windows. Also hope they eventually make a Mini Apple Pencil for iPhones.

I was just thinking we needed a fourth cog in the wheel to make gaming fun again (Atleast imo). We need a war. And valid competition. Microsoft accepted defeat. Nintendo is in its own corner of the market. Sony is turning into Apple with this PS5 Pro stuff. Idk. It’ll prob be a dud.

got 0 interest in buying an Apple game console. they should just partner with Nintendo and let Apple make the dock for the Switch 2 while Nintendo focuses on the games

Wow a LOT to unpack here. First Apple TV <> Gaming Console. Two radically different markets. Apple TV sells for $100-$200 and has limited hardware in it. Profit it very nice on that device. Next up is what OS would Apple push? Yes iOS has a huge market for mobile games. Would this device offer those games? If so they need a controller that supports multi touch AND one that can support GPS like functionality. Then we have Apples work on porting Windows games. Metal is making real progress for sure but there are developers that just LOVE Microsoft and won't ever code for anything but Microsoft DirectX. So the porting tool will need to be excellent. It is not in that state at the moment and needs many years of hard work to get it there. Then once good enough you will see shops just use it, and move on. This isn't bad, but Mac would be getting a worse version of the game. Again a step in the right direction, but not a solution. What I think would be a long shot but a neat solution would be for Apple to partner with Sony or Nintendo or even Microsoft. They produce the hardware and the others focus on the software. Does Microsoft really care about hardware? Could they port directx to OSX? Sure. Could Sony easily move over? Sure they are the obvious choice now that they don't have to push BluRay. So you buy this new Apple Device and sign up for Sony's PS-Plus and can download all the games you want. Sony then can sell the peripherals as well. This would require legal work with Apple. Then we have Nintendo. Nintendo does make money on every console sold, so I doubt they would give that up, however would they license their games to an Apple device? Perhaps. If Apple could partner with any of the big 3 in this area that could give them the mass production enough to bring real 3rd party support to their platform. By that I mean AAA games, not mobile games.

I would love to see a more affordable version of the Apple Vision Pro and more support for gaming on that device as well.

An Apple game console could be cool, especially with ecosystem integration… I would probably give it a go.

Apple used to be Good but mr cook is only interested in the money not making a product cool again but he like to use cool buzz words as for gaming I used to play a lot but nothings exciting me theses days so thanks but no thanks oh I hate in app fees as well
