Shadow is actually not teaming up with Eggman, Shadow was actually so powerful he knocked out the whole sonic crew and they had to team up with Eggman. Robotnik agreed to join the S squad (Sonic squad) and now Robotnik is good. Chaos should be the main villain because he is the actual villain that makes real threats

I think Shadow might be addressing Maria since he's doing all of this for her. He doesn't see this as him trying to fulfill the promise on his own but sees himself as an extension of Maria's final wish since he doesn't care if he lives or dies. Either that or he really is talking to Rouge or Eggman. It couldn't be eggman tho since he's working with Sonic so… Maybe it is Rouge
I didn't know that the fact that Keanu Reeves as Shadow says "When we're done" interprets that there is a chance for Rouge to make her first cinematic universal appearance in the movie. It might make sense according to hzjoe, but despite not being edited out like Amy Rose in the trailer where Paramount uses the No Way Home tactic to maintain her a surprise, this movie takes a lot from Sonic Adventure 2, so there's a 50% guaranteed chance for the appearances of Amy and Rouge. The LORD knows who will be in the movie because He is omnipresent, above time and space and He is everywhere. LORD willing. 🙂
Its not an adaptation, do your research… ITS INSPIRED! Sonic 2 didn’t take the direct storyline of Sonic 2, it was inspired, not recreated. That would make the movies predictable and boring
The amount of copium I'm seeing from the fanbase after this trailer is insane 💀 No, Amy and Rouge will NOT be in this movie. Yes they are taking inspiration from SA2, but it's not one to one. Similar to how Sonic Movie 2 was not 1-1 to Sonic 3&K. No Sky sanctuary, No Death Egg, and no Big arms. The same logic applies here. No G. U. N. truck, no "the military has mistaken me for the likes of you!", no master emerald hunting, and unfortunately no Amy or Rouge.
They were integral to that plot, but Sonic the hedgehog 3 is not that plot. They could have Tom or Sonic talk him out of it.
