pc flight sim games old vs new | DCS World v Microprose

Quick video from my two other ones (links below) for an f-117 microprose game in 1991 vs 2024 DCS world digital combat simulator. Had the footage from both missions on my drive and did a quick splice of similar events from both games. The mission is the same, bridge strike but one technology needed a 386 with a 33mhz processor and 2mb ram and 5mb space and the new game needs a latest intel cpu at 4500mhz 32000mb ram and 500,000mb of space. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. I played the earlier F19 Stealth Fighter from Mircroprose… man we played the heck out of that game! Good times.

  2. The sad part here that at the end of the 33 years we have incompetent monstrosity of DCS considered the end of the road. No really, think about the amount of gameplay content the oldger games had and compare that with DCS that is completelly lacking proper gameplay content (dynamic campaign "in progress" for 13 years now!!!) outise of many buttons to press, but nothing to achieve with them afterwards, has it's broken business model with modules not maintained (radbam F15/m200 recent fiasco), forever half broken release circle(as mission maker I left the scene as for 10 years ED managed to continuously break their own mission scripting), AI that is completelly incompetent and will rate fight you in mig21 or run f16 to the ground in two circle fights.

So great video … but also absolutelly sad video that DCS is the only thing left standing. We badly need a competition here.

  3. great video, you nailed it^^ i can remember that game, i played it back in the days in my amiga-2000 ^^

  4. We have a come a long way but some things remain the same. The destruction sequence of buildings is still crappy.
