Astro Bot is out today and with reviews dropping it looks like it immediately has become a front runner for Game of the Year. Sony is celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the PlayStation and in doing so gave us our first confirmation of the PS5 Pro.

I believe AstroBot has come out at a perfect time. We have one of the worst years ever for bad/failing game launches. We also have so many games that feel and play the same over the last 5 years. AstroBot is a game that goes back to what a lot of us grew up on…. the platformer and nostalgia is emotionally powerful. There isn't much competing against AstroBot, a game that's simple, casual, and fun with no live-service.
— Sony needs to remaster the legendary IPs and go back to creating story games that aren't live-service. Sony doesn't have much for the rest of the year or for 2025.

I wonder how much Sony payed for the development of Astro bot? And how long it took? I like it, it looks a more simple game than say god of war, why can’t we have more games like this from them?

We need more games like Astro Bot and fewer games like concord. I'm sorry, but the shooter genre is way over saturated. We need more games like God of War, spider-man, and Ghost of Tsushima. Yes, multi-player games are cool and fun, but after so many flops, they gotta take the hint.

Visions Of Mana is a lot fun for the most part, there are some things/areas that could of used a little more work, mainly the Greater Aerie Trials.
Didn't Sony buy the studio? I am not sure how much they paid but this could be part of what people are factoring in. The budget of the game plus the cost of aquisition.
Super Mario Sunshine being the 7th best rated 3D Platformer kinda makes that entire list a joke. Most Mario fans don’t even like it

I'm glad I grabbed the controller on impulse before the announcement. Don't care about the game but that controller looks sweet. And it does say Concord on the back.

The controller actually does have a giant Concord on the back of it. I thought it was a cool design but I didn't buy it because of the logo.

Between Concord, Helldivers II Astro Bot and Lego Horizon, it feels like one of Jim Ryan's last acts. They've cornered the market on high budget narrative experiences, but now they want to expand to EVERYONE. 3 out of 4 ain't bad.

People NEED to stop saying whatever game released that day is the best game of the year. It’s not just here but happens nearly every time. Either it’s the best or the worst ever and nothing beats it. I heard “game of the year” way back in February and even January. They couldn’t even wait a day or two to see if it actually is

I put no on the poll, but that was only because the question implied I was holding out for reviews. Astro Bot was already a must-buy for me, no review was or is going to pursuade me from that.

Even if Astro Bot was the best game ever made, it's no advertisment for the PS5 Pro. Sony has gone overboard on hardware this generation, and most consumers just don't see a reason for it. Their priorities are all wrong.

I remember seeing Concord at Best Buy just a few days ago. I just remember laughing at how big of a flop it currently is, and how $40 is just way too much for that garbage. Now it’s 3x that.
Concord is like the modern version of Cheetahmen. Something that was supposed to be big, but fell flat on its face.
