Ubisoft’s $70 Game Just Released… And The Reviews Were Awful

Oh Ubisoft… Skull & Bones is here. Allegedly it’s a ‘AAAA’ game. 10 years of development, and that’s on top of prior work done on Assassins Creed 3 & Black Flag. What on earth happened?

  1. On a positive note, I think I will give that black flag a try after hearing about it many times. I have been wanting to check s&b out, and maybe soon I will get the chance. Thanks for sharing. I subscribed.

  2. People will keep supporting these shitty games. People still think pre ordering doesnt make them look stupid

  3. I watch your content on the regular. Because of this, I subscribed.

If I wasn't a regular viewer, I might not subscribe, but I do, so I did.

It also helps you by promoting the video in the algorithm.

    It's win-win.

Because I'm subbed, your vids will show up in my recommended list, whether it's new, or even an older video that is on a related topic to something I'm currently watching.

I don't understand why everyone who regularly enjoys the content from a specific channel, but it just makes sense to do it.

It helps the viewer, and it helps the creator, with zero downside.

And now, this comment – any comment – helps as well.

So yeah, if you're enjoying these videos, fkg Like and Subscribe.

There's no reason not to, and every reason to do so….

  4. Any more, I just think AAA means it was made by a large studio, but I don't infer anything about quality or experience from that. If anything, I'm more inclined to be wary of monetization when I hear AAA. Interesting stuff, thanks.

  5. I just realized cyberpunk is the best AAA life sym to ever come out after gta 5 im gonna give it another playthrough

  6. How do people continue to support companies like Ubisoft? I honestly thought they'd be dead by now. Nothing but failures and bad practices

  7. We should judge AAA or Aaaa based upon successive sales versus cost to create. Or cost to purchase. I thought the whole idea behind like all this game is AAA was a standard of quality reevaluate how we look at that standard being apply

  8. I would imagine the Singaporean Government is going to want the money back if this game flops to the point of non profitable

  9. Why is Ed Sheeran complaining about a shitty pirate game on YouTube, I thought he did music or something?

  10. You guys (gamers) deserve this game lol, quit buying shit games and this shit would stop in a month.

I rarely buy games but I’m never disappointed because I wait to see if they are shit or not first lol

  11. So…Lethal Company? End runner? Palworld? These are the games that will define last year and this year. As of now, would you say the last AAA game that will be good is Baulder's Gate 3?

  12. So why not just put the tax money into making the game cheaper for people who purchase it… especially to companies or individuals who have already received a dev loan with little or no success?? They had to have thought of this and you have to question some type of corruption right?

  13. played it (thank god it was free access weekend) was a good time killer but wouldn't recommend it. i have no clue how they gave themselves a AAAA title with the content created. just unsure how ubi even let it launch in the state it is.

  14. Vote with your wallet. It's the only language devs like these understand. If there's yet another live service game coming out, don't buy it. Don't even "try it" if it goes on sale. Let them know that we don't want these sorts of games.

  15. It’s amazing how badly they messed this up. The had pure gold with black flag. All they had to do was make a pirate focused v2 of that and it could have been one of the best games of all time. Instead, they let their CFO design the game to milk their users dry with a not fun loop for pure monetization. When a game feels like work to just get you to pay to stop, you know it’s bad.

  16. I've got to give you some credit for actually, looking into all the tax breaks and stuff. They do that with movies as well. Massive tax breaks, yet the people making it, don't really lose if it's not successful. That one kid named Blum sorta does it too, EXTREMELY cheap movies, mostly scary ones, produced for SO cheap, that they the stinkers don't really cost em much, but every 8-10 movies, they have one maybe 2 that get big and sell alot, which funds the next 8 or 9 duds…with millennials and younger, standards are SO low, they can actually turn a profit. Roger Corman used to do it back in the day, just pump out a bunch of cheap πŸ’© movies n hope a few "stick", but at least it was slightly better than just normal cheap boring scripts

  17. The bf thing actually happened in planetside 2 where the guy also repair the plane in the air

  18. Some guy probably created a black flag mod that has more content than this entire AAAA game.

  19. If it needs to load when you dig up treasure, they're over calculating something. Tune in next week when we find out they're pulling a nexon with loot.

  20. Enjoyable in the Alpha and Open Beta. Seeing the state of the game in those was a clear sign it wouldn't be worth the price tag. Sucks for the people who actually paid for it and couldn't get a refund.

  21. What I dislike most about how big gaming companies making crap games.
Is they wont accept it. Its never them making a bad game.
Its because of this or that, they have a hard time. they had to deal with this or that. It is the gamers, they are toxic. They just dont understand.
Always blaming everything else, and often their costumers.

First of all. what ever issues there was, have nothing to do with those that buy your product. If you sell it. It has to be good, it has to be what people are paying for.
If you buy food, and get some toxic bad stuff. You will complain, and you wont just accept it if the chef was sick and was not feeling good, or the oven was not working right. Then they should not sell the food, or at least not to that price and without saying it.
And that is what AAA game studios do. They spend millions on something very few want. And then release a broken half done game, and make it sound as its perfect.
Then when people complain about pretty much being scammed, they come out with bad excuses to why they made you pay for a game that was not ready to be sold.

These studios are failing because they are not trying to make good games, with good stories.
They are trying to make a service that can service people to spend money.

And we now see smaller studios doing what these now big AAA games got big for. Making good games, with good stories. With care for the product.
Selling good games for 30-60 dollars, not trying to be anything other than a game to enjoy for what it is.
Its not a hidden agenda. Its not a cash platform with a game to to keep you pressing and engaging with it.
These companies needs to get out of their business world and connect with their costumers. Making products people want, and make money on giving people what they want.
Stop trying to hide agendas and make it about a million other things.
Have a game, have a story. Build a game with that. make it good. And you will make money on it. And spend less making it.

    Skull and Bones failed completely.
What they did is the same as if World of Warcraft wanted to make WOW 2. And then made it into a arcade tycoon style game.
They failed in making the game they said they would make. Because they tried to fill it with other agendas.
But they never came out being honest about it. They said this is a AAAA game, best ever. everything you wanted after Black Flag.
In any other business that would be considered criminal. If you sell something as something its not, its against the law. And the government will fine you.
But as many things in gaming, there are no rules. So these companies abuse and scam its costumers. And they get away with it because gamers are everyone.
its not one group of people. But all ages, from all over the world. all parts of life. They can never agree on anything. And they would rather fight each other, and make fun of each other. Than saying enough is enough. Pay to win is bad, hurt the games. But is defended by some, that just say you are poor if you think that.
People defending these companies are the reason it just gets worse and worse.
In a perfect world, people stopped letting them do it.
And in a perfect world, we would be getting amazing games right now.
    But that is not reality.

  22. I played the Beta and was honestly surprised how very limited the game play was.

  23. For that much I'd rather buy Palworld AND Helldivers 2 at once instead, seems like a way better deal

  24. if you spend money on this shit, or anything like it you are actively contributing to the destruction of good games.

  25. honestly I knew this game was gonna be shit because it was in development limbo/hell. Whenever a game is stuck in development it means the game has no direction meaning gameplay foundation is not there and the only reason why they released it was because they put time and money into it and they need a return on expenses.

  26. the amount of A's attributed to a game should be down to quality of the content not the amount of time or money

  27. When big studios making games, it automatically become AAA. That's why indie game studio don't get that title even though their game is better.
And life service games is based on mobile gaming. That's why every life service games quality would never be on par to single player games that intended for console or PCs. The mode is so limited, graphic is trash, but more focus on microtransaction. Nearly 50% of their work on that.

  28. First time viewer. Thanks so much for the wonderful info and well researched story. Have a sub! This was really good.
