Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Explains Why Indy Is Coming to PlayStation 5 – IGN Daily Fix

In today’s Daily Fix:
Xbox dropped a new trailer for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle during yesterda’s gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live festivities. But aside from the new gameplay footage, behind-the-scenes peeks, and cool cinematics, the biggest thing to come from that trailer was that it’s arriving on PS5 next year. That would make Indy the latest first-party Xbox game to make its way to a competing console following Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded (not to mention Call of Duty). Xbox’s Phil Spencer explained the decision in a roundabout way, that basically boils down to those games that they brought to Nintendo Switch and PS5 did really well, and Indiana Jones has a much better chance of selling well if the PS5 gets it, too. Also, Secret Level, a new Prime Video show from Tim Miller and Blur Studio, was revealed and we think we spotted Keanu Reeves in it.

  1. Bethesda had already agreed before Xbox purchase, EU who actually stand up for gamer's would of been asked to rule on cross platform.

  2. Because he knows he can’t compete with playstation anymore since there’s a HUGE difference in ps5 and xbox consoles. While playstation stays petty even though they are winning xbox is bringing their games to playstation. Sony might as well give in and accept the win and give xbox some games to play

  3. Xbox games will come to PlayStation eventually, if Xbox wants to make money, that’s what they will do

  4. PlayStation user here. Would love if halo was ported over and everyone can play along with each other. I’ve never played a halo game before but I’d love to co op with anyone

  5. Genius shift for Xbox to sell select 1st party games on other platforms after a timed exclusivity 🤷🏻‍♂️

  6. Yup trying to get all that money back they spend on Activision and Bethesda 😂

  7. To put simply, the Xbox division is a failed business that needs to become a Publisher in order to survive.

No one likes the Xbox brand anymore as Xbox exposed its true anti-consumer intentions for the future with the Xbox One reveal. Gamers are not known to forget.

  8. Indy couldve brought 10mill console sells easy in the US alone. Xbox reconsider read some liter. ,

  9. To answer:
They don't give a damn about xbox fans anymore and it's all about the MONEY.

If you're an xbox fan, just leave the platform at this point. You're a second class citizen

  10. Severe lack of pre orders 😂 not just that but you got to maximise potential income, it only makes sense

  11. Console exclusivity is dead ..noone cares anymore…just make great games and accesable on everything that can run it… that is if companies and devs want to maximize profits without leaving money on the table they could have gotten…

  12. Microsoft is making it so there’s literally no point in buying their hardware.

  13. I'm not against Xbox exclusives coming to PS5, as long if Playstation give some exclusives to Xbox too

  14. Phil one question: how long did it take to develop the PS5 port of Indy?
What? It was developed along side the Xbox version?
So you lied in February when you said it wasn't coming to the PlayStation. I'm shocked… shocked! 😂

  15. your player numbers are going up because of exclusives why are people at xbox so dumb gain players then lose them again lol
