Bakeru Nintendo Switch Review – Is It Worth It?

I played a littke of demo and gave me aome flash backs of playing soke 3d platformers on gamecube, ps1, and ps2

I bought the Japanese Physical Copy from PlayAsia in November 2023 thinking it would never get an English release.

I don’t believe this game is getting an English Physical Release, only digital.

I’m hoping my Japanese Copy just downloads the English Translation, and allows me to load it up.
It wasn’t that way with Project Diva Mega Mix.

another game hurt by the lack of difficulty options

the game is great, I've had the physical copy of the japanese version and i'm very happy to get this in english (fingers crossed it gets a physical)

Really hope Mystical Ninja starring Goemon gets rereleased at some point. That game was honestly way ahead of its time. It’s crazy that it came out before OoT.

You missed the most important part: Bakeru is voiced by the same voice actress as Naruto.

This looks like a Felix game.

That main character design is Sonic Team-levels of unappealing

Being a Dane who is good with accents beyond his own language (unlike any English speaker) I'm glad Felix got the title pronunciation right.

That log rolling/jumping section… I swear there’s an almost identical one in one of the non-mainline Mario games.

I am actually interested in checking this one out. If it doesn't have a physical release, then I'll just have to get it off of the eShop when on sale.

If they iron out the frame rate, then this might be a must have. If it was a solid 60, it would be a top ten Switch game…

There wouldn’t by chance be any Impact-like sections in this game, would there? Seems unlikely given there was no mention of anything of the like in this review, but you never know…

I was really surprised, it's a blast. I played through the demo a few times with my son. Sadly I think I am only getting Astro Bot for playstation next month, but this will be one I get this fall.

Bakeru would be a great addition to run on Switch 2 at 60fps. As much as love my Switch, it’s clear the hardware is starting to show its age now.

Congrats Felix. It's taken some time but you have taken over the youtube portion of Nintendolife. Hardly hear from the other folks much anymore, so you are essentially pulling the weight of what is usually a 3 man team. Keep it up man!

Nintendo should help them out with the physical distribution

I LOVED the demo, but the switch performance more than pushed me to seek a PC version. Definitely picking this up with the switch 2 though

To answer the title, yes. I got the Japanese version on release and it was my favorite game from last year. Glad it is getting an English release so more people can play it.

I hope this game gets a sequel where bakeru gets allies similar to Ebisumaru and sasuke and yae that are also playable if a sequel comes out

A 10 days ago when Nintendo showed this Bakeru game I really surprised how good this game looks this game have a beautiful 3D Anime art style, gameplay defienitily platforming and fighting looks so fun, the character designs are cute that I LOVE as an Anime fan, the World is about the country of the rising sun my Japan where you travel all over in it's map, this game gives Ape Escape, Ninjala Super Mario 3D World, Nintendo Switch Sport and Kirby and the Forgotten Land defienitily Ninjala vibes that I like, since when I saw Bakeru's trailer I think this could be my GOTY 2024 because this have EVERYTHING I LOVE defienitily because it's a 3D platform action adventure game with an Anime art style and it's coming in september my birthmonth yay: It's Ninjatime go Ninja Go! 🌏🌍🌎🌃🌄🌸⛩️🏯👘🎎🎴🍵🍜🍡🥷🏼⚔️😈🎭🎆🔥
