  1. Sun Wukong was born from a stone crevice, making him a silicon-based lifeform, and thus, a member of a minority group. As a stone monkey, he is genderless and can be seen as a representative of the LGBT community. Additionally, as a monk, he is also a vegetarian. He created chaos in the underworld to prevent his fellow monkeys from being oppressed, showing that he is a noble animal rights activist. After being trapped under the Five Elements Mountain for 500 years, suffering greatly, he gained a deep understanding of freedom, making him a liberal. He respectfully addresses women as "Goddess of Mercy," showing his support for women's rights, making him a feminist. His journey to extinguish the flames of Fire Mountain showcases him as a great environmental warrior. The storyline in the Kingdom of Women, involving male pregnancy and the allowance of abortion, further reflects a progressive stance on reproductive rights. Such a figure, embodying multiple attributes like minority status, LGBT identity, vegetarianism, animal rights activism, feminism, environmentalism, and liberalism, and with his 72 transformations piling on more and more buffs, how could anyone say he is politically incorrect?

  2. even if the whole DEI controversy was a marketing stunt, you have to consider the implications of the fact that its working. at the very least this story proves that gamers dont care about these social issues unless theyre directly pushed into their games, in which case they react averse and not supportive. you could write whatever the hell you want about the studio being misogynistic, publish however many hit pieces you want, it doesnt matter. gamers still play this game.

i would go so far that it got to a point where "this game doesnt have DEI" is a marketing slogan that works. the fact that the game doesnt have DEI and sweet baby or similar companies arent involved in this has generated BY FAR more positive feedback in the gaming community than the opposite. the line from screen rant "lack of diversity and inclusion" literally became a positive marketing point for this game in the gaming community.

you can kick, you can scream, you can write a 100 blog posts but the game is a success. people bought it. people are playing it. all thats left is for western studios to realize that DEI is actually causing damage to their image, instead of having a positive impact, and that gaming journalists have no voice and power inside the culture or community. because the whole industry died like 10 years ago anyway. gamers dont even go to them to inform themselves about games in the first place.

  3. What is interesting about this situation now is we might get Wukong 2 and those who involved the game into politics will surely can't have the early access of wukong 2

  4. I think the last two bullet points are there so that Game Science doesn't get in trouble with their government. Like what happened to Alibaba Group.

  5. They want female representation in a game where you play as a monkey lol these people are dumb af

  6. A minority who sprang from a stone, an orphan raised by the community, a survivor of the genocidal war waged by the fascist Heavenly Court against Huaguo Mountain, a victim of illegal human experimentation in the alchemical furnace, capable of 72 diverse transformations, and always flaunting a tiger-skin miniskirt as a proud member of the LGBTQIAPDK+ community. A staunch advocate of low-carbon, environmentally-friendly travel, he insists on riding the somersault cloud, a vegetarian who is himself an animal and thus a true animal rights activist, and a person with congenital kyphosis, making him a disabled individual. I stand with Sun Wukong.

  7. Remember during Covid when the left restricted what ppl could war, hmmmmm now they can’t handle this 😂😂😂😂

  8. i do not know wht this game is about but it already has my full support 🙂

  9. If I wanted to make a game I don't see the issue with just wanting the reviewers to make the review about… I dunno THE GAME.

If reviewers don't like it then they can refuse the free copy and call it a day. People need to learn to be mature adults and accept that they can simply say no and call it a day instead of screeching because not everything in the world is made for them. Instead they clearly learned nothing from the Hogwarts legacy fiasco and the massively failed boycott that just made all the activists look like rabid crazy people and ruined their public image even more. Odds are this will be the same- if they try to boycott it the game will still sell like nuts.

  10. On the topic of Genshin VA's supporting the Genshin Boycott: One of the VA's was fired and is being replaced because of her support in the boycott and another VA went on a crazy Twitter bender, attacking people. And HoYoverse has also seen a increase in profit across all their products, 20% increase (may be misremembering the percentage but a lot of money). Overall, the boycott is dumb (especially when people applauded and celebrated the CEO of HoYoverse having his car broken into and robbed when he visited California, gross behavior from terminally online weirdos).

  11. Stop spreading rumors. If you need that email, I can fake a more exaggerated one. 😅

  12. I play Genshin, but I'm not 'THAT KIND' of Genshin player. I'm with everyone else that has a functioning brain, they're FICTIONAL CHARACTERS!!!!!!! If it bothers you that much, then stop playing and supporting the game. Let the rest of us that actually just want to play the game enjoy it in peace. It's not that hard to do.

  13. Well Well well… What a smart and preemptive response GameScience has taken. 👍🏽

  14. Screen Rant removed the name of the author who reviewed game over safety concerns. She was a DEI consulant and she docked points because of lack diversity and inclusion in a Chinese game aboutva Chinese mythology.

  15. [ Announcer ] Warning
    Tickets should not be
    taken internally.

Homer: See? Because of me, now they have a warning.

  16. All these games jounos are doing is guranteing they ain't getting review copies… and tbh good!

  17. Literally "That sign won't stop me coz I can't read" moment from those game urinalists. Sooo sad. 😂

Those based terms should be mandatory (maybe the law) for any works. So sick of american puritan goo-goo-gaa-gaas.

  18. I can understand someone refusing to review the game because the publisher is partially owned by the CCP, same reason I wouldn't buy it, due the the CCP's use of slave labour and the huygur genocide.

  19. I heard of this game due to the fact that I'm a sucker for Journey to the West inspired media.

  20. If this applied to all game journalist reviews the current ones would be out of a job lol

  21. When I stream this game on Wednesday I'm going to talk about nothing but Covid, feminism and politics JUST because this said this, like wtf

  22. Although I agree 100%, I would have sent the game right back. Fuck you for leaving me "Instructions" If I were a reviewer I will leave a review and you decide if you want to ignore it or not.

  23. I HATE it when people make fun of the McDonalds hot coffee case. Go look it up and say you wouldn't have done the same. The lady was 79, opened a coffee to put cream and sugar in while in the backseat of a PARKED car. The coffee was estimated at 180-190 degrees and gave her 3rd degree burns on her legs and groin. She asked for compensation of medical bills and lost wages of her daughter who cared for her in recovery, total $18,000. McDonalds offered to give her $800. So she sued to be made whole which is the point of the legal system. The jury awarded compensatory and punitive damages. Punitive damages of $2.7 million were reduced by a judge and then the case was settled before the appeal. The lady only wanted less than $20k originally and McDonalds refusal created that mess for themselves.

  24. So cool, like the BAFTAs~ actor or actress, pick a lane~ these 🤬🤬🤬people need to get over themselves 😡

  25. Actually Wukong is the most diverse game out there. It has a monkey as the main character, plus spider, male, female, midget, monk, giant, and god. With all this diversity, it should be named Black Man: Woke Kong instead. 😎

  26. Is this communist Russia. Freedom of speech. This game is just a rip off, God of dark elden wukong. It's garbage on its own with out a gender attached to it.

  27. You mean…they HAVE to actually Review the Game WITHOUT politics and crap?

I'm shocked! It's almost like they are being asked to DO THEIR JOB !!!

  28. Then you see screen rants review and one of the cons is there is no diversity in this game about old Chinese mythology.
