What happened to the eShop? Do you guys have any fixes for my issues or other complaints?

also, the switch eshop, i mean the switch UI is souless! the other nintendo consoles had WAY better Eshops…

My solution would be adding a permanent blacklist option in the settings, specifically a way to blacklist publishers, cuz most of that content comes from the same ones.

Other than that the only complaint I can agree with is the lag issue, I think the search filters are actually pretty good, you can sort by games that are playable now to filter out all the coming soon stuff, you can sort by newest under whatever genres you want, you can sort by lowest price to highest price (and you can then filter out all the downloadable content) this is all stuff you can do on the eShop on the switch itself, you don't have to go to the website.

One thing I do wish was different is the price range filter, I'd like to be able to type in my own price range, there are still some improvements that could be done with the filters, but I'm always able to find what I'm looking for.

My biggest problem with the eShop is that there's no dark mode!

I did an experiment with the switch eshop. I went to the “newest released” page, and wrote down the game that was newest. Twelve days later, I went back and counted how many P***ography game have been released in that period. It was FIFTEEN!!!!!!

The amount of [Luigi] content is so overwhelming

Bought a Luigi game as a joke since Cyber Monday deal led it to be 1 cent. I wish I could get my penny back because it's just pictures and mostly easy puzzles. Uninstalled right away

The Eshop say's theres 13,000 games and I don't know whether to believe that

Nintendo won't listen to consumers even if you paid them to, but anyways, I just got a copy of Yokai Watch 4, 5 unopened Japanese Pokemon card packs, and a Pokemon Bonsai tree from Japan, and it is the best thing to happen (my sisters friend is Japanese and went over the summer, and got me a few things I had been wanting for a while). ALSO NINTENDO NEEDS TO MAKE AN ENGLISH TRANSLATION FOR YOKAI WATCH 4 (that doesn't require me to get my switch banned just to play).

Tbh, my main problem with the switch is Nintendo's service. From generic profiles with no unique artstyles to terrible online. In addition, some features are region-locked such as 'Mission & Rewards'' and custom profiles even if you are an online service member.It's is disappointing that they prioritize adding Old games that 90% of users don't care about rather than upgrading their services.

As a steam user, im disappointed in the lack of adult games in the eshop

I've always thought that there should be a rating system on the switch so we can all avoid low quality games, and higher rated games would be prioritized by an algorithm. But then Nintendo would probably get mad if an indie game became popular and outperformed one of theirs.

But I kinda like the idea that Nintendo is not using Spyware, biometric ai and generally leaving me alone when it comes to this modern way of marketing.
It's really refreshing that they aren't collecting gigs of info on me and turning around and selling it to an unknown third party.
Probably short lived (they'll probably do so in the next system) but just another take on this..

A tangent to all of this…What is the point in setting up a family and adding your kids to your family on the switch?

My son likes playing everything under his name, so any time we play together, we're on his name. All of our mario kart unlocks are on his name. I bought the track pack and what do you know, they weren't showing up. I then found out that I had to use my name for the tracks to show up. Now, we play on my name for games that I download extras for, and we need to re unlock everything.

Even further than that. The living room switch is mine, I have my account on it. My son has his own switch lite with his name on it, and i have a lite with my name on it so that the living room one can stay where it is. When setting up my lite, it wouldn't let me put my account on it, and i needed to set up a second account. It kept telling me that the account was already linked to a system, and that I couldn't have one account linked to two systems. We have two ps4s in the house and my wife, my son and I have our accounts on both systems with no problems. If we tried playing online with the same account at the same time, there would be an issue, but that's understandable.

I've bought a few games for my account and I'd love for my son to be able to play them, but without him logging into my account, he can't. Would have been better off just buying the physical copy.

biggest L the switch eshop takes is that theres NO music, THE WII HAD THE BEST MUSIC, THE 3DS AND WIIU HAD MUSIC, WHY IS IT GONE NOW!? ALSO WHERE ARE THE OTHER COLOR THEMES????? THE 3DS HAD CUSTOM THEMES AND RED BLUE AND OTHER COLORS WHY IS THE SWITCH IN JUST BLACK AND WHITE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? NINTENDO WHYYYYYYYY
