Last time Gamefreak divided up to try theor hand at a new game we got the awful graphics of pokemon sword and shield and the equally awful Little Town Hero to show for it that sold like crap until they put Pokemon easter eggs in it to boost sales from collectors.

Says a lot about this franchise that increases in worker numbers and development times are more hype than the games themselves.

I never understood the hate around Scarlet and Violet. Sure the graphics may not be the best, but it is the first open world pokemon game with constant entities spawning in unlike Legends of Arceus. Scarlet and Violet may have been the most enjoyable experience I've ever had on a pokemon game. Shiny hunting in the game is super chill and enjoyable, the plot was one of the best since it had more freedom with the open worldness, and the pokemon designs look clean, and the combat system has been revolutionary for competitive players.

In regards to Legends of Arceus, I don't know why everyone wants a game that looks exactly like Breath of the Wild for a pokemon game. Theres a reason why they are different games. People should stop expecting pokemon to look like Breath of the Wild. Also, frankly, Legends of Arceus has been one of the only pokemon games I have decided to not finish because of the boredom I experienced playing it. There is so much hype around Legends of Arceus, but I do not understand why. Everything here, is of course my opinion, but still thought it worthwhile sharing my opinion.

I hope they don't do anymore Masucucks, as a result. I was out for blood when I learned the Honedge line was cut from gen 9. I refused to buy those games, and refused to hear a thing about them. To me, gen 9 doesn't exist, solely because my favorite pokemon was dropped.

More time between games ? Hiring new staff ? Plus the new game area seems to be much smaller ? Let's not get our hopes too high but all this sounds very good to me.

feel like the mic is peaking when you speak sometimes. Not necessary but applying an equalizer to your audio could help achieve a better sound I think

Every year that isnt a remake recently has been something unique like lets go and this year, legends. Though if gamefreak is taking more time now, the whole pattern can change.

Friendly reminder that not only have they been functioning off of that small team this whole time. Theyre budget for the mainline games has been the same since red and green/blue

I have not purchased Scarlet or Violet because it’s not a finished game and Game Freak should be embarrassed they even thought of putting it out when they did. It needed at least another year in the oven. If the goal of the new hires is to increase manpower and prevent that from happening again, I’m all for it. I would like for Pokemon games to be good again.

Square-Enix's infamous very early trailers, for example, also act as hiring material to attract talents. That's why there is a more publicized posting for this.

Game developers in Japan that are experienced, especially in AAA development, are more rare. That's why japanese studios would like to retain their employees. Also, full time employees are harder to mass fire than contractual especially in Japanese law.

Among those 37, let's hope there's no plump HR lady or DEI parasites.
Please let them be designers and most importantly, DEBUGGERS.
