I love Sony consoles and still have some of my old ones but PS1 should be A tier. You gloss over the flaws unlike some of the other consoles.

imo, agree with most of the list, I'd have probably dropped PS3 to B tier and PS4 to A alongside the PS5. Also, dropping Series S and X to C tier, even now I feel like there's almost no reason to go buy them when Game Pass exists. Microsoft's greatest invention though is their controller, everything from 360 onwards feels like some of the most ergonomic and integratable controllers on the market for me, although considering the competition is the Switch's joy-con which feels like they're constantly plagued with new issues and the Playstation's DualSense (which I hear has excellent motion controls, although the controller as a whole always felt hard for me to use), it feels like the competition still has some room to catch up.

I had an atari 2600, nes, snes, n64, genesis, saturn, dreamcast, xbox, xbox 360, ps1, ps2, ps3, ps4. Ps4 was my last console and I don't intend to buy another. It's PC from here on out.

What this video did for me is reinforce what I've been saying for decades. If there's no games to play on it, there's no reason to buy the console. Playstation being top tier so much but ONLY when the games started to show up as initial PS3 sales showed. Xbox 360 had the games? it sold. SNES had the games? It sold too. I don't like Nintendo's anit-consumer moves but I salute them for recognizing they can't compete against Sony/Microsoft so they branched into their own market. Only now with Steamdeck and other suprise players showing up I wonder what Nintendo will do with the "Switch 2". Xbox… there are no exclusive games. People like their gamepass service which doesn't appeal to me at all. Sony copying their homework concerns me long term. I saw long ago and as recently saw the 360 store going down, Wii games that don't port over, I knew console online stores couldn't last.

I would put Dreamcast in A solely because of the absolute gem that is Phantasy Star Online. That game alone is responsible for showing developers that playing online with live lobbies and parties dungeon crawling for bigger and better loot was possible. If it wasn't for PSO, many online console titles might not even be here today. Even Monster Hunter developers have gone on record multiple times claiming they looked to PSO as a massive inspiration for their series.

You are so wrong about the PS3! Even if the start was bumpy, in the end it produced more great exclusives than probably any console before – and franchises that are still among the most important today: Uncharted, Dragons Age, Mass Effect, Dishonored, Last of Us, and… if not exclusive: Assassins Creed. plus Red Dead Redemption. All that launched back then! The PS4 didn't have nearly as many new big titles that had a similar impact: Horizon?! PS4 was already the dicouraged, safe path of making just the same, just with better graphics. The PS5 hasn’t got anything comparable up to today! Not even 1 game with progressive new ideas. The PS3 is still really playable today because the graphics aren't that much worse than those of the PS4 AND it was the heyday of indies, which showed for the first time that a lot can be done with good ideas, completely new subjects in games (death, alcolism, mental illness… it was like Cannes is making games now) and they have done that even with little money. Just a few examples: Journey, Limbo, Terraria, Papo&Yo. I've had every SONY console, but the PS3 is the best of them all from today's perspective (PS1 and even PS2 have unfortunately aged really badly and the games are only still playable today with a lot of stamina. Better to go straight back to the SNES then). PS3 was amazing and it still is. I ve tested PS1, 2 and 3 just some days ago and playing GTA VC on the PS2 was a surprisingly horrible experience

Having to send my xb360 in for red ring 5 times, my brother sent his in 4-6 times, it just can't be S tier for me. You shouldn't have to buy another console to fix issues with their shoddy Hardware. Highest I could go would be A.

NES and master system on technicality are close, but the library of games has NES on top, Playstation 1 is great, PS2 amazing, PS3 with support of 1 & 2 isd godly. PC gaming is my thing since diablo 1 ! No diablo ever surpassed it to me. Diablo 2 is equal at best. But the 1 location, 1 terror of Diablo 1 is perfect. The other ones has ZERO gravitas. You have large locations, all the time in the world. Diablo 1 was claustrophobic & limited in time. THAT is the perfect game.

For me the best gaming console is my PC. Of course it's an open system and the fact that you can play games on it, even though its the main reason for private purchases, is just a coincidence. Nevertheless, the PC offered me the deepest immersion and game-time per title. The problem with consoles is that they are a closed system and that they are not good for anything else besides the Playstation having been an early Blu Ray player.

I grew up with a PS1, GBC, PS2, GBA, Xbox, X360, and then moved to PC and later a Steam Deck.

Having missed out on much of Nintendo's library, I've recently gotten a 3DS and a Wii (modded both) and have a Switch Lite on the way (with a picofly chip coming as well).

I do truly miss the multiplayer experiences from the X360 era, though the sheer amount of games available for all old systems and current PC's is incredible now.
