My only complaint is I always cringe when sequels tie in way too many one-liners from the film that preceded it. “Strength and Honor”, “I will have my vengeance”. Give us new epic lines from new characters who need have their own identities. If we want the same magic from those lines, we can just watch the original film😣😫
Honorable Mention Gripe: One of the best things about Maximus is he touted strength and honor whilst exhibiting it too. He walked the talk. He loved his wife. His son. They were all he wanted. He wouldn’t cheat.😠
It's more of a remake but with less powerful acting, than a sequel 🙁
They appear to have advanced the development of the counter-weight Trebuchet by a thousand years 🤔

What always gets me about modern visual effects is giant battles, ships ramming into each other, landscapes can look incredible, but when it comes to getting a monkey right, it looks absolutely atrocious.

Why didn't they use this music in the first trailer? This is so much better and in keeping with the original movie.
Only way for them to mess it up is to still have the rap hip-hop modern day music in the actual film.
Why do all new movies come across as parodies of the older, better movies they are based on?
