Looks like we had some breaking news tonight where a brand new PS2 game showed up on the PSN backend. And we know for certain it’s new, because the store description tells us this is indeed a PS2 game getting re-released on PS4 AND PS5 with the updated emulator features that the PS1 and PSP games got. So that includes the bump in resolution, the save states, rewind, and video filters. Let’s go over the details and also discuss why we might want to keep expectations in check. I’m certainly excited, I tried to hide it, and I was able to keep control, even though I liked it.

As sad as this is, I prefer playing PS2 games on my Series X via emulation anyway. Can play any and every game, no need to worry about publisher support. Play them upscsled in 4K as well

Wild how people have been paying for 2 years expecting more ps2 games
When they add certain games, like for instance, Castlevania Lament of Innocence, Neo Contra & Contra Shattered Soldier, Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog (all games that are still exclusively remaining on PS3 Store) then i'd be more interested, as long as i wouldn't have to re-buy all of them again.

PS5 could potentially be getting more PS1/PS2 games with some enhancements now when Xbox users already have it since launch, with all PS1, PS2 and PSP games running at 4k 60 fps.
I just want to play The Godfather and Godfather 2 games again on PS5.
