  1. It’s the psychology aspect of the show that gets people hooked – what would we do in that situation? What strategy would we use? Also the cinematic contrast of childhood games to high stakes risks makes it fascinating

  2. I NEVER WATCHED ANY SQUID GAMES and WILL NOT FOLLOW THE HERD IN WATCHING THE NEXT SEASON.

  3. I think it was popular because it was about desperation and we all felt that we all needed a life change, aesthetically it was really cool and interesting which led to great Halloween costumes, the tone was also very different from all the other shows you mentioned and much more approachable, I also think the game show element of it all made it more fun for people

  4. I remember seeing so much hype and buzz and media attention for Squid Game in the fall of 2021 and I thought it was an actual reality competition show from Korea, not that people were actually being killed lol. I finally watched it in like November/December. I'll watch season 2, but I bet it won't have the cultural impact it did a few years ago

  5. The guy seems bitter that a korean show did well. Like he cant wrap his mind how a non white show could so well. Very closed minded individual.

  6. I luv the first season enough to watch the second season. It don’t have to be any more complicated than that.

  7. It was okay for me. Creative with some script nonsense. Overall entertaining. Enough to keep me at least curious about the second season.

  8. You can apply for the squid game challenge right now on there website

  9. Most film makers are interested in creating escapist fantasies. While Squid Game is no exception, its escapist premise enables an honest look into desperation within a capitalist society. The initial draw may have been the premise, but it was the pulse of the human stories that resonated with the audience, a pulse that comes from a real place. I think Breaking Bad did well for the same reason.

  10. I'm not even trying to set myself up for disappointment so all i ask from this season is to be in the same League as the first one. I'm not even expecting it to be better or as exactly as good, just IN THE SAME LAEGUE and overall a good season.

  11. It had an interesting premise and every episode ended on a massive cliffhanger – that’s why

  12. The world is addicted to it because the show was awesome and everyone was able to recognize quality like they did with Breaking Bad, plus Battle Royale concept is all the rage especially around the time it came out

  13. if you like squid game you might like The 8 Show 2024.. its a serious version of squid game.. plot twist..

  14. A lot people relate to the show because of the struggles they go to a far as debt may be. South Korea show Hollywood that skin color is not important in order to relate to a good story.
