You know, it's interesting: You hear people say all the time 'ugh, another remake, ugh, Hollywood's so unoriginal'. But I think the overwhelmingly positive reception to this trailer and movie says something important: People will be way more enthusiastic about a remake if you have a competent director a creative team at the helm, people the audience trust to deliver a quality story and movie-going experience.
This looks amazing. I won’t expect this film to suck because the director of this film did the witch and the lighthouse. Both films that I love

I also really love the 1979 Werner Herzog version, the aesthetic of which seems to have heavily influenced this version … no bad thing … looking forward to it, but please, check out the Herzog.
