We’re four years into the PS5’s lifecycle, and we’re only just now getting to the point where it feels like developers are beginning to properly leverage the console.
As it is, a more powerful version of the PS5 at this point in the generation seems completely unnecessary- but not only is Sony releasing the PS5 Pro, it has also made the mind-boggling decision of selling the console at a whopping $700.
That is a ridiculous price to pay for most any devices, but to set that price for a mid-gen refresh that is clearly offering incremental upgrades at best, on top of a console that itself has barely got off the ground so far, is a spectacularly terrible decision. Here, we talk about all of that and more.
The only "crime" here, is just you and entire internet just could not stop cry for the price, of a product, which you will use at least 3 years every single day. So, if it was 100 USD less? What? 1000 days usage, for 100 USD is 0.1 USD per day, are you serious right now ???? So you have no problem to buy a cigarette pack per day for 5-10 or more USD, with which you can only unlock lungs cancer achievement, or a McDonald's big mack for guaranteed diabetes achievement+ cancer, for like 30 USD per day…. But no, the PS5 price is your problem. Bunch of idiots. If you compare PS5 price with gaming PC with similar performance, only VGA is more or equal to the price of the entire PS5. Are you mad, or just stupid?
this isn't your ps4 pro its actually unnecessary heck the ps5 was unnecessary upgrade in graphics and that nifty SSD is all we got

Even when they zoom in I can barely tell the difference. Gaming has peaked and it’s unlikely we’ll see big jumps in performance going forward.

I think what we will find is this generation is going to last a couple of years longer than the previous due to the first factor, it wouldn't surprise me if PS6 releases at the earliest 2028 and likely even 2029 holiday

Ps5 pro has nothing to offer other than technically being better than the ps5 . Sony are relying on brand loyalty but personally i haven't even bothered to upgrade to ps5. Sony also pricing it beyond the reach of most people and now getting you to pay extra for a disc drive. Game prices up etc etc . If you really want the best gaming experience you need deep pockets and it's pc ! No console will ever deliver what we are promised. Good to see that even sony themselves couldn't even showcase the real world benefit of the pro ! It's the placebo effect if you are told it's better you can easily convince yourself it is. One true fact sony are a corporate business and profit is their only incentive. The old saying a fool and his money are easily parted !
This going make people wonder should I go Xbox and wonder can do without marvel and PlayStation exclusives and cloud gaming with portal or disc drive or stand?

yeah, dang. originally was going to buy a pro and then a new slim for my nieces… but now seeing how ridiculous this price is for the most base line expectations of an upgrade (not having to pick between performance or graphics), I'm not not only not going to buy a Pro, I won't be a buying a brand new slim either. Insulting they took the disc drive away put a damn plastic stand too.. since they're so confident in keeping their price the same after 4+ years meanwhile GPU technology has rapidly changed. Going to get original second-handed PS5s. Shame, many of us would be sold on upgrading and buying more but Sony really giving us all the middle finger here.. it won't go unnoticed by the large. Also, where are all the exclusive Playstation games to even remotely give people fomo and come anywhere close to justifying their over-evaluation? They've clearly lost their minds.
They shouldn't have shown a side to side comparison because even the enthusiasts found it hard to see a difference so in the end all that was noticed was $699.
