Another 8 GB of RAM would do wonders for this, I think. It's not GPU… no way GPU can't handle graphics from 30 years ago. That leaves CPU and RAM.
Can you turn off the CRT filter? It may improve all those higher end games performance.
Ok im really getting tired of hearing how cheaply made these systems are!! What do you expect for the amount of money theyre going for??? If they were updated the way youd like them to be wed be paying much more money for them!!! You get what you get!!

I think the point of these are to just be better than the android boxes out there but not as good as actual gaming mini pcs. Just an extra option.

Ahoy, Thanks for the video. The J1800 is on Cherrytrail/Braswell level. Its good for 8/16 bit games. My main Batacera system is a surplus Onyx MedPC and has a J1900 4-core CPU. It works great through about SNES which is as high as I want. I still have an old ASUS Chromebox booting Batacera. Its a Haswell 2-core media chipset but performs just as well as the J1900 because the Haswell GPU runs at 1Ghz. My hobby is playing with the old low cost Intel chips. I even have an Atom Z3735 Baytrail that runs Win 8.1 and Retroarch decently. Thanks again for the fun test. Cheers, daveyb

Geez any old ex corporate USFF/Mini from Dell, HP, Lenovo will run rings around this thing and they can be upgraded with bigger drives, more ram and even CPU swaps.
Sometimes the crappy CRT filters can tank the frame-rate. It might be worth testing how it runs with them all turned off 🙂

for $79 mame KI 1 and KI 2 is a milestone achievement something like this you will need to make your own build and use matching emulators with matching rom sets and you will have better performance in mame and use newest builds of emulators for windows that are better optimized for low spec devices.
For $80 I will buy a minipc i3 6500 8Gb ram 250ssd in Poland… which eats this scrap from the movie for breakfast… and then returns it, but I won't say where and with what 🤣
You can probably can also use a DVI-D to HDMI connector for it. Or just a cable with on one side a hdmi and the other a DVI-D or DP connector. Btw it look it likes you can actually can still connect a VGA CRT to it. That could make it interesting for some people. A intel n100 version with a ssd instead of that horrible 500Gb HDD would be interesting for me
