  1. When it comes to collections like this that are basically emulators with a pretty UI running old arcade ROMs – the review should constantly compare this to fightcade. If the collection has every single feature fightcade has – it's a 9/10. Giving us gallery features, ROM hacks that let us manually select assists in MvC1 or pick secret boss characters, 1 button specials, match recordings, a quick online rematch, crossplay… That stuff is what the last 10th point is about.
If, somehow, the online play itself isn't up to par with fightcade – the game is a total failure.
With these old games – unless the player is a streamer, Capcom have to justify purchasing over piracy. What this collection should always strive to be is "all you can get with piracy and more".

One personal gripe I have with these recent Fighting Collection games is that they don't utilize the side bars at all. They should assume that everyone is using a 16:9 or 16:10 screen to play this and put information in the side bars. It's a great place to put input history in training mode, player names in online, technical data like frame rate, delay frames and ping, fun stuff like achievement progress. Don't just throw a wallpaper in there and call it a day.

  2. My only issue really is there is no x men mutant apocalypse and i can't understand why. i know this is supose to be arcade classics but it should have been included regardless because i don't know where they would even add that in down the line. i wish this had been a more complete version of all of the marvel games that capcom had to offer. still i have been having a blast playing all these games so far

  3. My question to you is are you going to buy the marvel covers that depict the marvel vs capcom style?

  4. There's no way you got this collection months in advance it doesn't release until November 22nd I know because I watched the trailer two or 3 times now to make sure I was right about when this releases. Reviewers usually don't get a review code or the physical game until a week or two or a few days before the game releases.

  5. Biggest issue apparently right now is Justin Wong being allowed to play online. 😂😂

  6. frankly i love the game but do i feel the assist breaks the game, the combo from assist are just insane so the Varierty of mix match up begins to be limited at the competitive level most of high tier player will play storm black heart and sentinel and well some variant of that. but mostly 1 of 3 will be there and its sad, i think it would be better without the assist so i hope one day i hope they make a no assist mode to show the individual character skills.

  7. I don't expect the new generation to appreciate this let alone be good in these games. NO PAY TO WIN JUST PURE SKILL MANO A MANO.

  8. The MVC2 in this collection do looks like shit, even the smooth filter can't save it.

  9. it really bums me out that dualsense controllers don't work right in the steam version. it's wild to me that any developer pushes a game to steam without having the right glyphs or full functionality for a controller that, if I bought it for PS5, would work perfectly.

  10. Now, if they would've added the original X-Men and Spider-Man arcade games, then hands down; I would've bought it.

  11. I thought he was going to say he would rate the collection like a 7 or 8. I busted out laughing when he decided on 9.5! 😆 might as well given it the 10 dude

  12. I’m appreciating these old school fighter collections as I was too young when they originally releases. I hope they do a Mortal Kombat Kollection or Tekken Collection

  13. As a huge Capcom fan since the 90’s I skipped this game. I’m not a huge fan of its pricing, it should have been something like $29.99 max. You may then argue about the marvel licensing however this is Capcom we are talking about. Financially they are doing great and can afford it….

  14. Excellent review one thing I've noticed is that the punisher is not playable online this would be fine. Put another capcom collections with final fight you can absolutely play it online so why can't we play the punisher online capcom?

  15. Have the first fighting collection and this blows it out of the water by far having a blast with it never really played these back in the day

  16. Wish they would have added fate of the world MVS Capcom 3

  17. I’ll throw my two cents on this collection, these HD transfers of the games are immaculate, they look so good even on the OLED handheld, crisp looking and probably the closest we’ll ever come to arcade cabinet quality.

Also who knows if we’ll ever see a collection like this or these games like this offered ever again in a complete, definitive package. Knowing how Disney and Marvel are with their properties as of late, it’s hard to say if they’ll ever be this generous ever again.

No doubt Capcom had some pull with the contracts they signed for these games, and likely enforced it, but who knows if in the next generation of consoles we ever see these games in this level of quality ever again.

  18. No crossplay is absurd. A travesty. What is capcom thinking? The population on these games is usually pretty low, if they join all systems it gets bigger. I don’t understand.

  19. I have been such a huge fighting game fan since FighterZ came out, and after joining the FGC, always hear stories about much older fighting games that people miss, so i was excited for this collection, picked it up day one. But im not allowed to play online. Online players have no interest in rematching a new player, or im just simply not allowed to press buttons. I hear you loud and clear, im not welcome to play your sacred game, i will just leave.
