New 40K Fan Reviews Space Marine II

I’m new to the 40k universe, giving me a little bit of a different perspective on Space Marine II. Let me tell you why this game is awesome, but has some holes in it for newer fans.

Game is available on steam for around 70 USD:

  1. If only this game had a bit more content, I am so sick of these minimal viable efforts… Yes, the campaign feels good, but you can play through the whole game in three evenings 🙁

  2. 20 books in and he's a new fan?! IDK about delving into this series lol maybe I'll start One Piece or something instead

  3. Excited to get into 40K and Space Marines 2!
As long as they don’t invent female Custodes or anything

  4. For those who don't know:

The co-op missions are tied directly to the events in the campaign. These missions happen at the same time as Titus' team is doing something on that planet, in the vicininty. For those who want to experience the wholistic story, do one campaign mission, then the coinciding co-op mission, repeat, until the game is over. This doubles your content, and fleshes out the story a lot more.

  5. Between warhammer 40k miniatures and star citizen, I have found my trapped between two expensive hobbies😅
Glad to hear your a new fan! Plenty of stuff to dive into if you wanna learn more

  6. I absolutely hate class based pvp games. Especially shooters. But the rest of this game looks amazing

  7. make the multiplayer a MOBA with guardsmen as the mobs and 'nids as the neutral monsters

  8. Wow, to see this game rise up through the ranks of gamers' hearts is wonderful. Personally didn't have the funds to invest when I first came across a huge playset of Warhammer in a Canadian mall way back in 1998, but to see this franchise finally gain the much deserved recognition is really nice. Plenty of lore to fall into, highly detailed tabletop components sell themselves as merch already, and a game this well designed will hook millions into the fold.

    Happy gaming folks!

  9. gamers are so easily impressed these days, or rather YT're are for clicks, lets all jump onto the latest bandwagon guys! I would be surprised if this is still installed on 1/4 of your machines 2 weeks from now

  10. You can parry any attack that isn't marked in red. Blue attacks are just ones you definitely want to parry or at least dodge.

  11. I’m here for the SC content, but I am perfectly fine with you splitting off to talk about other games you really enjoy. SC can, and always has been, a bit of a drag to find content to talk about anyway. Really enjoyed this video!

As a side note, I love the way the Black Carapace implant is shown in this game. It’s those coupler-looking things dotting Titus’s body and is essentially the interface between a Space Marine and his Power Armor. Without it, the Power Armor goes from responding like one’s second skin, to being somewhat clunky and clumsy with delayed responses to the user’s movements. It’s part of the reason Space Marines can move so blindingly fast and with such precision despite wearing over a ton of Adamantium plating plus gear.

  12. Im still busy with Black Myth Wukong, but cant wait to try this game later! Hopefully they will bring a lot of new and fun game elements in the future, just like Helldivers II.

  13. the old school map layout and not overly complicated design is what make Space marine 2 PVP interesting tho because games have lost their way and peoples now have been driven to play games to get reward instead of playing the games to have fun !

  14. 9-10 hour campaign is not short and is perfect for people who don’t have all the time in the world to beat a 100 hour campaign(most open worlds are just empty and there to waste time). 4 hours is short(cod) while this game has that old 360 feel which is nice. Time was great, campaign was good, and pve ops is pretty fun too. My gripes is all the crashing, infinite loading screens, and wished they had more pve missions on launch.

  15. What would I choose?

    Necrons.

I played the first game and loved it. However after watching a streamer play through the campaign I highly doubt I'll buy this game now.

Not because it's a bad game. It's far from that. I just have no want or desire to play through yet another space smurf game being unable to play as my favourite faction from the WH40k universe.

  16. The fun bit is why the game is on track for a million sales in the 1st couple days of launch. Warms my heart to see good old fashioned slaughtering of xenos with a heart-warming story of 'courage and honour'. The parry system depends on the weapon trait 'Fencing, Block, Balanced' you need to pick the one that fits your style, that's why it feels like there's a 'discrepancy'. Devs probably need to highlight this a bit better?
Some of the neo/gothic style is lifted right out of Notre Dam and posh victorian era railway stations, I think I saw an eagle from the Chrysler building in there too. Stunning attention to detail. Review?

  17. Was really looking forward for this as the next coop game but unfortunately it disappointed. Combat feels clunky and lame. Graphics should be better not to mention no ultra wide support yet. For 20-30 bucks maybe…
    Fans have fun I guess.

  18. The short version of the lore is that the Imperium is the most repressive regime imaginable, that has betrayed every one of its founding principles, and is now slowly decaying from its own dogmatism and fear. The space marines are genetically-distorted beasts made from stolen children, which the Imperium uses as its most elite soldiers. There are space monsters, but the fading humanity is the worst lovecraftian monster of them all. Titus is a space marine who tried to think and act more creatively, part of one of the ‘better’ chapters that actually try to take care of their peasants, and for it he was accused of heresy and abducted by the Inquisition. Also most advanced technology is exclusively operated by a red-robed techno-cult that are basically a religious, individualistic vision of Star Trek’s Borg.
