  1. Only thing keeping me from switching from windows is with Linux only a portion of my Steam Games work

  2. The zoom in on Mike's face saying never-ending updates got me. I had the YouTube tiny window open as I was playing star wars galaxy of heros. Listening to Michael being serious and at a quick glance, I caught the zoom in, and the words never ending updates, lol.

  3. The biggest problem with Linux in Finland is that people think Linux comes from Finland. Even though it is partly from Finland, today it is the information technology of the whole world's population. Finns still think it's just Torvalds' stuff.

  4. Could you please add subtitles to these videos, as youtube does it automatically nowadays? You just need to select some settings.

  5. good timing. I just installed mint on my laptop and popos on desktop as a bigginer. I think I might have got them back to front.

  6. I just tried Linux mint 22 but I couldn't get the NVIDIA drivers to work. I tried everything in the console, none of them even recognized my second monitor, and then I added additional sources and installed straight from nvideas website but ended up borking the install so bad… Any idea how to get Nvidia card working? I just want to play terraria

  7. I wish Mint could play Destiny 2, but bungo still have a stick up their collective backdoor codes 😒

  8. apparently, Blender's devs are pokemon fans.
as for OBS – NVenc still does not work in OpenSUSE's OSes which is disappointing. I use the NDI plugin, which the installation of before it being flatpak was a nightmare due to it being made by corpo type people. so the NDI plugin being flatpak makes installing it so much easier, AS IT SHOULD BE.

  9. It looks like the Web Scrobbler extension is trying to convince me that every Michaell Tunnel video is a new musical hit.

  10. I expect the Beta release of Cosmic Desktop to be made available around February 2025, with the final release in February / March 2026.

  11. To pronounce EEVEE, just check your OG Pokémon series.
Love for Linux Mint though, it's such a nice experience for both workstations and to introduce others to Linux, especially if one wants to keep service times low.
I am really curious for COSMIC too. Probably stick with Plasma but from all the talks surrounding it, COSMIC will be great.

  12. I'm really excited about the Cosmic release.

Hey Michael, I have a language question for you. You may say it's semantics but still!
Almost all English speaking, even Brits, say THEEE to anything. Theeee news, theee things, you get theee idea right. I have learned that you say THE, when the is in front of consonants and THEEEEE in front of Vowels with one exception which is Y, lik ein Year, THE year. It is not ment as a critique, more that I am wondering why this phenomenum is so wide spread on youtube?

I think maybe someone want to underline something and said theeeeee "thing", but when it is used all the time, it is watering out the emphasis. Or is it just the new English? I know you love language, so maybe you have an explanation?

  13. Mint Web Applications….. rewind 10 years to Peppermint OS: ICE- SSB Web Applications ???

  14. Oh man, pipewire is freaking sweet. I install a gui for it and I'm more of a visual person, it is easy to see what the audio is doing at a glance. I'd slam my head against the wall constantly before it.

  15. When in doubt just install Linux Mint. I need to update but I'm running one of their last LTS. When things start breaking on the updates is when I upgrade, it means it is at the end of life, lol.

  16. i found an interesting video linux distros that no matter what you choose it will always suck as what the other distro users think of what you user as distro hopping or daily drive

  17. I’ve been testing out the rolling Git version of COSMIC on Arch, and it’s looking very promising. I’ll probably retrofit it into my personal .deb repository along with some Linux Mint 22 aesthetics once the official release arrives, morphing it into a “Minty COSMIC.”

  18. I tried to install Mandriva when it was still Mandrake Linux! I tried a lot of them in the 90's,but I couldn't get any to be what I considered usable.😢 Thank goodness that changed over not too long a period in time and now to me Linux (Arch + KDE Plasma) is an absolute must have, and Windows not even a remote option! It's just too much better in too many ways, and it just keeps getting better!

  19. Wow!! Blender is already wicked freaking cool, and now it is even better!?!?!?🤯🤯🤯 Someone clean up the brain splatter please!

  20. hybrid mp4 is better than mkv because a lot of websites still don't support uploading mkv files. Soim personally happy I don't have to convert formats anymore! great video btw!

  21. OpenSuSe Slow-roll is best thing they ever released. So far it is more stable than Tumbleweed version and far less updates. This is a good thing when you travel with limited internet.

  22. You miss vanilla os 2 orchid just got release linux mint still using old nvidia drivers
