I played Half-Life Alyx two years ago, and it surely was mind-blowing. Definitely among the best games I've ever played.
More importantly, the ending of Alyx tied directly to the ending of HL2: Episode 2.

For me personally, that was an indirect announcement that we will be getting a continuation of the Half-Life story, somehow.
